- 1500 Watts / LCD Digital Temperature Display / Stainless Steel Sole Plate / Variable Steam Control / Soft Grip Handle / Auto Clean

- I was uncertain at first because my old Black and Decker Auto-Off was small and compact and easy to store. But I am sold. This is easy to use, irons in half the time of my other, good steam spurts, and easy to shut off...even keeps a light on to remind you it's plugged in.
Only thing is it uses up the water quickly..but now I just remember to fill it before each time I set down to do a load of ironing.
- I never thought that I would love an iron. This is the best iron that I have had. It glides with ease no matter what fabric that I am ironing. I love the auto off. There I times that I may get distracted while ironing and there is no worry about the iron running forever. The steam on the iron is wonderful. I have no problem with water dripping from the iron. I would highly recommend the iron to anyone. And have.
- We researched this iron on Consumer Reports and it stands up to the review. Powerful and easy to use - making the necessity of ironing more pleasureable. Previously owned an expensive Rowenta which lasted only 3 years. Great buy, this model was hard to find but the Consumer Reports high recommendation in most catagories.

- This is a great iron. It heats up very quickly and glides right over your clothes. When it needs cleaning, it tells you. Very easy to clean. It removes wrinkles very well. I have not had any problems with this iron. Well worth the money. Would recommend this item.
- This is the best iron ever. I've tried everything including expensive separate water tank irons. This is the best!
- This product is not cheap, but then you do get what you pay for! After spending far less on a panasonic iron, i was disappointed by that product's ability to tackle wrinkles especially on cottons and linens.
This iron makes it really easy and quick to tackle wrinkles. The results I get out of this iron and the time I save makes this iron a great buy!
- This iron works great did research on from consumer reports rate great and very happy with it can see the issue with the water fill cover but not an issue if your careful This iron actually makes you enjoy ironing due too it gets very hot fast and GREAT STEAM the blast of steam is awesome auto shut off works great if you forget about it being on
- Black & Decker Is Tops Over Rowenta
- The best iron my wife and I have used. Our very expensive Rowenta started off ok, but gradually built up residue and even after cleaning, would leave particles on our clothes. This Black & Decker iron works beautifully, cleans very easily (even lets you know when it needs to be cleaned), and leaves no residue after cleaning. Shot of steam is more than enough and you can adjust how much you want to have by the dial below the handle. The digital read-out beeps when the iron is at the temperature you've selected, and it is a breeze to iron now. The weight of this iron is good, not too heavy and not too light. The water tank holds a good amount of water and it is very easy to add more water if needed. The little cover/door that you flip up to fill the water tank is attached by a hinge that seems delicate, but we've ironed for over a month and haven't had a problem as some other reviewers have mentioned. Great price and super saver shipping a plus. All these positive reviews are proof how well this iron works.
- I've just received this iron, and I've never had such a handy gadget before. It heats up almost immediately, holds a steam blaster for tough wrinkles, glides effortlessly over any fabric, and shuts itself off if left unattended (ten minute time-out if it's vertical, one minute if it's lying on its faceplate). I would feel rather silly just describing how to use an iron, but this one does everything so well, from filling the reservoir to blast-cleaning the iron of deposits. I hate ironing, but this makes it almost fun.
- I purchased this iron about 1 month ago. I iron on a weekly basis. I also sew so I'm particular about iron performance. This iron has great steam and heat. Easy to fill with the included container - holds lots of water. I was worried about the door for the water being flimsy per other reviews but I have not had an issue with this. No spitting of water!!

- My first Digital Advantage iron was a D2020, and I loved it for one year, then it let out a long audible beep and stopped heating. Couldn't have it repaired, so ordered a D2030, and was so excited when it arrived. I was able to iron two garments before it let out the long audible beep. Darn! I unplugged and replugged and tried again several times, and finally decided to hang it up and send it back. Double darn. Now back to square one and will have to make do with the old ordinary iron. Wish Black and Decker could improve the quality of this iron so I could have one again. Love the way it steam irons. Hate the way it breaks down.
- I bought this iron on January 2007 and today it quit working. I turned it on and the digital screen is stuck on the first setting (heat level 1). I unplugged it and plugged it back on and it still does not work. I expect an iron to last longer than a year and a half especially since I only use it twice a month to iron a handful of garments.

- I love to iron and a good iron is very important to me. I had been using the Rowenta for years until it died. After much research I went with the B&D. I love the steam, BUT I don't like the fact the steam dial terns off by itself (this is my second B&D in one month and the other one did the same thing). AND, after maybe 5-10 hours of ironing, it says it has to be cleaned again. THIS IS NOT GOOD!!!!! Can anyone out there recommend
a good iron?
- In a crowded field of irons, this stands out.
- I was researching irons and this was highly rated in a popular consumer ratings magazine. I took their advice and purchased it from Amazon and do not regret my decision.
The Black & Decker D2030 iron does what a iron should to. It gives you a suitable range of temperature settings, it gives you a variety of ways to apply water to the clothing you are ironing (steam, spray, surge), it has a nice long cord and it has just the right amount of heft that makes it feel like a good quality iron. The handle is very comfortable in the hand because the top side of the handle is not hard plastic like many other irons. I also like the fact that you can easily see the actual water level through the translucent water tank.
The backlit LCD digital display is easy to read and it is comforting to know that there is an auto-shutoff that will take care of any forgetfulness to unplug the iron when finished using it or if you are unexpectedly taken away from your task of ironing.
Setting temperature is accomplished by pushing a small button at the base of the LCD display until the desired fabric type is reached. I'd personally prefer a dial to choose temperature setting simply because I'm a visual kind of person and it's easier for me to dial in the right setting rather than press a button a multiple number of times to arrive at the "6" setting for cotton, for instance. But the method this iron uses is OK and I do like the audible beep that lets you know the iron has reached the selected temperature.
There only a couple things that I'm not totally pleased with...
-The provided filling container for the iron water reservoir is a joke. It is cheesy and does not hold enough water to actually fill the iron's reservoir in one fell swoop. It takes a couple trips to the faucet for that to happen.
-The cap that closes the spout where you fill the iron with water is of dubious durability. I've owned this iron for 8 months and the cap has not broken off yet, but there are numerous reports of other people not being so lucky. You do need to handle the cap gingerly because it does not seem to be very robust in its construction.
-The steam volume dial is not designed or placed very well. I am continually and inadvertently hitting the dial with my thumb while ironing which causes the dial to spin so that the steam is turned off. This is quite annoying and after 8 months, I -still- haven't been able to train myself not to hit the darn thing while I'm ironing. I'm right handed by the way and maybe this wouldn't be an issue for left handed users, although I'm not certain.
This iron performs quite well overall. I am happy with it. My wife loves it. The price is right and in spite of it's shortcomings, it rates a solid 4.

- I've had this iron for about a month and I use it pretty much every day to iron dress shirts. So far it has been very good. Pushes out a lot of steam and heats up very quickly. The digital display is a nice feature. Overall, I would definitely recommend this iron. It was very reasonably priced.

- Does a great job, makes ironing quick and easy. I had a Black and Decker iron that was in use for over 25 years, and I am glad that I stuck with the brand!
