- This a real food processor, not one of the featherweight cheapo models. Quiet and powerful, a great size for 2-4 servings. Very pleased!
- This 3 cup processor is excellent in that for two people one may fix a salad, or a desert. I have done the preperation for Sorbet with great success and made salads which were out of reason if using the 8 cup processor. I would like a thicker slicer for use.
- I bought this item so that I could puree food for my 7 month old baby. The process is very easy and it is fairly simple to clean. I would very much recommend this food processor for small jobs, if you a feeding a large amount of people you may want to get something a little bigger...
- Great product. I owned one prior to this purchase for 15 years! Grateful to have the replacement!!!!
- My new Cuisinart Food Processor is a dream come true !
Easy to use (yes, I actually read the instruction manual), takes up little space and opens up new vistas of culinary diversity. Unlike the new fad in food processors that chop and grind ONLY, this one can also shred or slice an unlimited quantity with its handy chute, so you don't even have to stop and empty the bowl.
I love the strong motor and solid footing of cuisinarts (no jumping across the counter).
Even use it for quick garlic mincing and chopping fresh cilantro or basil, as clean up takes but 2 minutes.
Salads are a cinch now, hummus (creamier than ever before), salsas, prepping vegetables for stir-frys, mixing batters, on and on...
The time I spent researching was well worth it ! Cuisinart came through for me again.
Gratefully,
I. Elizabeth
- I love this food processor. It is a perfect size for what I like to make, and for our small family. As my family grows over the years I will probably get a bigger one, but for now. . . perfect!
- It's my the best little helper
- Cuisinart DFP-3 Handy Prep 3-Cup Food Processor
It was the fastest delivery that took 2 days only! Thanks Amazon!
It's my the third and the last food processor. I've used 11 cups, 7 cups ones and I find that this 3 cup Little Guy with the chute attachment is the best for my family of 3. Even when it's not the most powerfull food processor I've owned now it's the most versatile and handy thing in my kitchen. I use it a lot - avarage 2-5 times a day. Every day I start with blending my breakfast kefir+fruit+weetabix smoothie. It also makes the best fresh homemade mayonnaise (from 1 to 2,5 cups), the finest pate and the smoothiest vegetable paste for my green curry. The chute attachment is awesome! It sliced 10 pounds of cabbige and shreded a pound of carrots for my Russian sauerkraut in no time. It's REALLY EASY to clean. Just don't wait till foods dry out on it. I use it for all my pureing, blending, shredding, slicing and almost all chopping tasks.
What I don't use it for:
1) I don't use it for dough making since my Cusinart stand mixer does it's job the best.
2) I don't chop vegies with my Little Guy when I need it done neatly.
3) I don't use it for grinding seeds because I don't want to scratch the bowl or dull the blade. A coffee grinder works good for that kind of job.
I highly recommend particulaly this Cuisinart DFP-3 Handy Prep 3-Cup Food Processor with a chute attachment. It makes cooking so much easier and enjoyable! I wish everybody who is looking for his/her kitchen helper is as much satisfied as I am with my Little Guy. Good luck to y'all!
- My Favorite Kitchen Gadget
- I owned my first food processor (an Oster) for 5 days in 2005. After reading tons of reviews and looking at processors for years, I finally settle on the Cuisinart and the 3 cup because I have a small family and small needs at this point. I use it practically every day. I have done the following:
Chopped onions, garlic, zucchini, carrots
Made pizza dough
Made many, many smoothies
Made Pesto
Made bread crumb mixture for my meatloaf/hamburgers
And I've only had it for a few weeks....
So far I've not been impressed with the shredding discs, but really most of my needs are with the basic chopper.
I have pulverized some stuff, but after rereading the manual, I realized that my technique was off and had better luck the second time around.
This processor cleans up so fast and easy that I prefer it to my blender for smoothies.
And I love how it chops my onions with three little pulses.
Maybe the big processors have more bells and whistles, but right now I'm humming along with my little cuisiart. And my kids love to play along. I love how the processor will only work when everything lines up correctly - makes it even better.
I'm looking forward to trying the pie crust recipe in the manual. I have never made homemade pie crust a day in my life, so this will be a first. I'm also going to make hummus, salsa and brownies very, very soon.
A worthwhile investment for the kitchen!
- Great small food processor
- Bought this for my parents, as my mom needs some foods pureed. Delivery was on schedule. Had never used one of these before but instructions were clear. It was easy to use and clean, with no little plastic parts that looked like they would break off easily, as some other units have. It doesn't take up much room on the counter. It pureed meat and vegetables surprisingly quickly. Its 1-3 cup size was great for pureeing 1-2 servings for her. Haven't used the slicing or grating disks yet. Am very pleased with this processor.
- I recently purchased this mini food processor to replace a 25 year old "Cuisinart Pro" that gave up the ghost after some serious use. While, I don't know if this one will last another 25 years it does look like a smaller version of my original. The design and manufacturing seems identical and the results are the same regardless of capacity. If I remember correctly the "Pro" cost over $200; more than four times the current price of the smaller model.
I just want to add a note of advice to would be buyers of this appliance or any other food processor....What these things do well is puree ingredients into sauce bases, tapenades, soups, salsas and the like. Don't buy one expecting to throw away the paring or chef knives. If you are preparing large quantities of sliced vegetables you're better off with a mandolin or a good set of knives. I've always found the attachments to be generally more trouble than they're worth. But for a small preparation of the aforementioned foods, I don't think you can beat the Cusinart Handy Prep.

- I purchased this food processor to do smaller jobs. I have used it twice. The first time to simply grate cheese. Simple task, it almost burned the motor out. The second time I was make a dip. The chopping blade is now stuck in the processing bowl. I have the larger 11 cup processor and am very satisified. Much easier to use and even though it costs more, it has been money well spent. I am in the process of sending this back to cuisinart (not to be replaced).
- I bought this based on the reviews and was very happy the first two times I used it--bread crumbs and blue cheese dressing--then making au gratin potatoes I used the chute for the first time. It was wonderful for the first block of cheese (just the standard 3x 5 things you buy at any grocery) and then smoke everywhere--totally jammed--thing dead!! $50 bucks down the drain--3 uses.
Forget Cuisinart. They are riding on their name but they are not producing the same quality. Years ago I had a food processor that was a no-name-brand thing that would do 10 times this amount of cheese with no problem--used to make cheese enchiladas all the time with it--wish I could remember the brand.
Beware if you really want to use this for something substantial.
Sorry to disappoint you, but I am very disappointed to throw $50 in the trash.
- I sent this back for refund. The design was cumberson and capricous. The food pusher had to go in one way, not the other way and had a hole in the bottom so you could not use for liquids...the cutting blades did a horrible job of mushing the food rather than shredding the potatoes. Very disapointed. Bought a Black and Decker and was happy.
- All I really needed this to do was to chop vegetables (Peppers, carrots, tomatoes, etc.) and it couldn't even do that. Everything it chopped it chopped unevenly. It would nearly liquefy some things or chop other things so unevenly that I just had to go back to chopping with a knife. A waste of my money.

- It works very well I had bad experience w/ the magic bullet and I was looking for gadget to replace small jobs.
the problem I found in this food processor is that you have to be careful and not put much liquid ,only up to the line otherwise it is a mess
thank you
- My wife wanted a new Cuisinart. so I thought that a step up from her old one would be nice.
I'm a proud recipient of the benefits (she's an AWESOME cook), and I might end up using it a few times myself when I cook for her (guys, don't be WUSSIES... Cook for your "significant other" once in awhile; The benefits outweigh the drawbacks... TRUST ME!!!)

- small processor packs big power
- If you are a chef extraordinaire and require great volume and versatility in a food processor, this product probably isn't for you. But if you enjoy putzing around the kitchen, prepare food in smaller quantities, and are not very adept in using knives, you need this. It quickly and thoroughly chops, purees, and slices just about anything you can think of. It's easy to put together and take apart, and it fits nicely in the dishwasher.
