- this is an awesome blender. I bought it for $34 in reconditioned form. The item came as if it were (maybe it was) brand new!! Everything was clean, not used, individually wrapped in plastic packages. You can tell it has a strong motor and it does a wonderful job blending, crushing, etc. The bottom of the pitcher is plastic although it looks silver. The base is stainless. Great product for what i paid for it!!!! Would highly recommend!
- Product like new. We broke our glass pitcher on ours and it was only a little more to buy an entire reconditioned blender than ordering a new glass pitcher.
- This blender is very powerful. It is also quite heavy and feels like it has quality manufacturing and finishing. It pulverizes ice in about 2 seconds flat, and has no problem blending even when completely full. The only problem is that the pour spout is almost non-existent, so depending on the consistency of what you blended, pouring can be tricky (particularly with thick frozen drinks). Great deal for the price.
- After 4 blenders, I can say this one is my favorit
- The delivery was really fast.
I was wondering, as the price is so low, if the product will be powerfull enough to deal with ice and hard things in general.
I used it only once, and I can say, so far so good!
It did reduce to a delicious smoothie a very big bag of frozen strawberries
which were kind of a compact block of ice...speed is really good and it's easily washable, even in the dishwasher!!
good deal!
- i received this blender today and it is worth every penny and i was surprised of the quality of it, one of the customers complained about too much plastic please it is solid.. very heavy buy this item you won't be sorry!
- Over the course of a few months I had gone through 3 blenders. I was looking for a blender that was heavy duty and durable and found it in this cuisinart. I make protein drinks almost daily and use frozen fruit, ice,ect..this blender handles it with ease and I am totally satisfied. If you need a blender that you can depend on than I recommend the cuisinart CBT-500FR, you can't go wrong and the price is worth every dime spent. The only drawback and it is minor compared to what you are getting over-all is the pouring spout on the pitcher is a little ackward to pour and this means for heavier smoothies or drinks you have to be careful to avoid spillage over the sides. The dependability and power for shakes, protein drinks and smoothies is well worth this one drawback in my opinion.
- The first time I ran this blender I could tell it had a 600 watt motor. Runs quiet and strong. Looks beautiful in stainless steel.
- --love it! At the price you cannot go wrong. I got mine refurbished and was a bit skeptical, but when I received it and used it I was a believer. An excellent way to pick-up a quality product at a bargain price.
- Very solid, great for smoothies. Crushes ice with little or no problem. Durable and looks nice as well.
- I bought this blender for my wife who is dieting and uses a lot of fruit smoothies and other shakes in her diet. This blender has no trouble crushing ice cubes. She is very pleased.

- Poorly designed, breaks, pours sloppily
- There is, effectively, no spout from which to pour; consequently, I am always making a mess, especially with thick liquid. The bottom blade assembly is poorly designed and has locked up on me twice from crushing ice and blending thick soup. Cuisinart sent me a replacement once, and then, reluctantly, a second time, warning me that this was the last time. Now another cheap plastic piece has broken and they won't replace it. Total piece of junk.
- Bought this thinking I was gettin a decent product. Although I haven't used it much trying to make a soothie took forever, kept having to shut off unit to mix the fruit to the bottom. Also smelt like something was burning.over-all not much better than the $2.00 blender I bought at a garge sale
- Cuisinart Blender, Looks the part.................BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- This blender is good looking, heavy and inexpensive if you purchase the refurbished unit.
However, it does not do a very good job of blending.
It takes a long time to blend things and even then it does not completely blend all the ingredients to a uniform smooth consistency.
In hindsight it would probably be better buying a unit that doesn't look as good, but did the job it was bought to do.

- The people who complained about difficulty pouring from the pitcher are correct, it can be messy. The blender is loud, but it does the job IF you allow it time to work.
If you are impatient, you will be frustrated by an incomplete job. I use mine for frozen daiquiris and the result is excellent, but slow.
So in a nutshell: thorough; noisy; slow.
- A very nice blender and it looks new. Very powerful, the price was good, and free shipping. No complaints.

- I purchased a factory reconditioned unit for $40 bucks. In todays blender market, where it's hard to find one under $100, I think it was a steal! I've only been making shakes, smoothies & frozen drinks with this.. It crushes the ice and mixes the drinks in a few seconds. The unit looks great, although made out of "brushed steel" looking plastic which will probably eventually crack.
The motor & glass container weigh a lot, so it feels like to should last a while.
Great buy if you can get a factory reconditioned model!

- Reliable but noisy machine
- I've been using this blender daily for the past couple of weeks. It is very sturdy, a little noisy because of the big plastic base but still makes an excellent smoothie if you get the liquid to frozen fruit ratio correct (my problem not its).

- The product has an attractive look. When I ordered this blender I wasn't sure about Factory Re-conditioned product, but it turned out to be as good as a new one! The negatives of this blender, the spout on the glass pitcher is too small, made it harder to pour drinks. Also, there's no cord storage as it mentioned.
