- Designed to help keep your action-packed life in balance, iPAQ 110 Classic Handheld makes an excellent - and affordable - companion to your cell phone. This slim, stylish organizer also lets you go online with Wi-Fi to stay in touch and keep your calendar, contacts, and tasks up to date.

- Great value for money. Takes high capacity SD cards too. Would have liked more info. on e-book reader capability before buying. But am very happy with the ipaq. I would recommend it to all to buy.
- exactly what I was looking for and more
- I purchased this item about a month ago mainly because I had so many paper calenders laying around and none of them had the same information. synced very easily with my computer and wireless function is top-notch. If your looking for something that has all the functionality of a blackberry or I-phone without the monthly contract than this is the device for you!
- I love it. All functions are great. It is everything you need in a handheld computer.
- Great product came on time and was in great condition as it was refurbished. The longer I have it and learn the options it has the more fun I have and the more useful the handheld becomes.
- This is a great overall device. It loads programs very quickly, and so far has handled just about everything I throw at it. I used to own a palm tungsten e2, but after using this I will probably never buy another palm product. The screen is huge and browsing the web on this device is just about as good as on a desktop computer or laptop. The pages load very Quickly and the only page I have found it cannot load is youtube, because my web browser has no flash support(I am using Opera browser 9.5 beta).I like to add third party applications and so far I have not encountered any problems with adding programs to the device. the only thing that bothers me is that the battery life on this is not as good as in my palm. they both use the same size battery, but the Ipaq has so much more processing power, it is not even a fair comparison. The build Quality is very good, and the Ipaq feels very good in the hand thanks to it's rubberized back panel.
overall, I would strongly recommend this device for anyone looking for a good pda with lots of functionality.
- Have been using this for several weeks with no issues. I sync to my home computer using Windows Mobile Device Center and to my work computer using Active Sync with absolutely no issues! Have used the wireless function without issues. All in all, a great PDA!!
- I received the item promptly and it was in great condition! I can't thank you enough. Will definitely do business again in the future.
- My First PDA/Pocket PC or How I Spent My Summer Bonus
- After researching PDAs for years now, sometimes on the verge of buying one only to give in to my inner Luddite and running out for another paper planner, I finally bit the bullet and bought the iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld.
The good reviews are accurate and the few bad reviews are mostly vague and unspecific, focusing on stylus replacements and not much on performance.
I've been using mine for three days now and have used almost every feature except for the bluetooth. I've downloaded a couple of programs to it from Handango with ease. I've set it up to send and receive from two email accounts- one internet based and the other through my ISP. No problems there. I've set appointments, set tasks and set a wakeup alarm- easier than setting my clock and more organized than the business cards with notes jotted on the back.
I don't have Outlook on my Vista OS so I can't take advantage of syncing to my laptop, but it doesn't much matter as I've never used Outlook nor the Windows Mail and Windows Calendar that came with Vista. I'm in for a long evening of entering contacts manually but I've got a bottle of wine opened.
Sometimes when I use the stylus, if I'm holding the unit awkwardly, I'll accidentally hit the email button but I think there's an option of turning those buttons off. If not, I'll just stop holding the unit awkwardly.
There have been reviewers who tend to mistake the power button for the record button on the right side of the device and one claims to have recorded himself unknowingly. I haven't had this issue as the power button is at the far top and the record button is at the far bottom. Plus, you have to tap the "record" button on the screen as well to make it start recording.
For me, it's a great product and my fiance likes it too. I may end up getting him one for Christmas or as a wedding present.
- HP iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld (FA979AA#ABA)
This is my first pocket PC. I bought this at Amazon, quick delivery and amazingly easy to setup. It has everything I need to get going, my Outlook files are perfectly synchronized and i can use just like my desktop. I added a 16Gb SDHC card and edited the registry to direct my mail to be stored on it, FANTASTIC, now I have a copy of ALL my mails in its original folder structures. I also have a backup of all my frequently accessed files from my PC. I love this thing. So much more "tweakable" than an itouch with all the features you will love.
- compatibility issues with Mobile Windows 5.0
- Hey,
you've read the reviews. small form factor, sexy, sleek. I like it alot for all the features. However, the program I am trying to run will not work on Windows Mobile 6.0. So I am gonna sell this baby off and get something else with Windows Mobile 5.0.

- Product is as it appears in the descriptions, but... THE BATTERY LIFE IS WORTHLESS. The model I received and tried to use for 4 days won't stay on for more than 1 minute. It appears fully charged on moment and after I unplug it from the charger/usb drive, it shows the "battery critically low" message and turns off.
I've used HP products for many years, this is the first time I have this kind of bad product show up.
I'm asking for a refund this instant.
- Who would put their name on this?
- Apparently HP would, but I don't know why. The s/w is buggy, and documentation (on a disk, you provide the printer) is simply ridiculous. There are numerous arcane uptions in configuration that the manual doesn't mention. I guess if you just want a cool toy, this would be great, but I need a TOOL; the apparently insurmountable issues with synchronization render this thing all but useless to me. Also, it just FEELS fragile; every time I pull the stylus out, my fingernail catches the trim that doesn't quite fit right, so I know it won't last long. I'll go back to my clunky but reliable 2210. I guess Amazon will charge me a 15% restocking fee, but I'll write that off to lessons learned about mail order.
- Under no circumstances should you buy an iPaq 111
- What a colossal disappointment. I chose this HP iPaq 111 after years of using Palm products. I heard very good things about it. Regrettably, good reports were exaggerated. The iPaq is much more cumbersome to enter dates in. It will not sync with Outlook on your desktop. Apparently, this is a new development. If you value having a back up and entering data on the desktop, this is not the product for you.
- Item arrived in excellent physical condition and in a timely manner. I had the unit less than one month and experienced recurring problems with it. HP was contacted by telephone regarding the problems several times. The problems could not be rectified over the phone and it was returned for service twice in that time period. Unit still malfunctions. (The problems experienced were the Notes files on the SD card mysteriously losing information and the Windows Media Player displaying the message, "an unexpected error occurred." The media library on the SD card would suddenly cease to exist as well. The library was downloaded 4 times with the problem recurring. HP originally suggested that the problem was with the SD card, however I purchased 4 different SD cards of varying capacities and manufacturers, and the problems still exist.) I spent about 3 1/2 hours in total trying to explain the problems to HP, over the phone, and there has been much frustration in trying to get them to understand. I bought the unit primarily to use for my employment and the records for work in the Notes files are now gone as well as the media files. This has been a very disappointing experience to say the least. I would NOT recommend this product.
- Great when it worked, but unreliable
- Within 3 months of purchase (right after Christmas 07), HP had had to replace the battery and the cable. The device still could not sync. It would lose my user id and go to "guest" in the middle of a session for no apparent reason. Then data started to disappear occasionally.
After many calls to tech support, one person said it was probably the motherboard. I sent it in for repair in the box they sent me. It was back 3 days later with no note, form, or anything to indicate what had been found or done. The box was folded but not sealed. I installed top-rated, reliable software that was compatible with the device per Handango. I'd used it successfully in January and February. The following morning all of the software had completely disappeared from the device overnight. I couldn't even uninstall it because it wasn't in memory. (There was no reduction in power, nothing at all that could have damaged the device overnight & it was not left connected to the computer).
Tech support says repair "couldn't duplicate the problem".
I never had problems like this with any Palm device.

- I purchased the IPAQ a few weeks ago. It's been great esp. when you are able to get an internet connection via the WIFI. My only complaint is that the battery doesn't last to long. Other than that I love all of the features and it's easy to set-up and use.
- exactly what I was looking for and more

- Excellent but weak battery life
- This is the third Ipaq that I've owned. Love the new interface and it is fast. Only complaint is that the battery life isn't as good as my old rx3115, but this can probably be solved by purchasing a different battery with longer life.
- Not perfect, but a great value
- So far, I am very pleased with my iPAQ. This is my first PDA, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I bought mine mainly to use with an English-Spanish dictionary. The screen is clear and has good resolution.
From the pictures and videos I saw online, I didn't care much for the look of it. But now I am quite pleased with the way it looks. It is small, has a nice metallic looking finish on the front, and I like the feel of the black rubber material on the back. I think the buttons on the front could be better. They feel a little flimsy, but they are acceptable and I haven't had any problems.
Some have complained about the speaker being on the back of the device. It would have been better if they could have put it on the front, but it is no big deal. The speaker is loud enough for a small device like this(Media Player which comes with the iPAQ can play MP3 songs). I imagine most people will hold the device in their hands and not place the iPAQ on a table top, so blocking the sound shouldn't be an issue. Anyway, you can plug headphones into the iPAQ.
I didn't know too much about PDAs and Windows Mobile (It came with Windows Mobile 6) before I bought this. I was worried about the time it would take to start the device. I found out it turns on in about 1 second. What I like is that I can use my dictionary, turn the device off, turn it back on later, and in a second I'm back to the dictionary. I don't have to wait.
I installed ActiveSync on my PC to sync with my iPAQ. When I connect them via USB it syncs automatically. I was worried ActiveSync would be a nuisance or HP would install some nagging software that asks me to check for updates or something like that, but that wasn't the case. ActiveSync only pops up when I connect the two. Also, sharing files is easy. To copy a file from my computer to my PDA, I just drag-and-drop the file using Windows Explorer.
Another thing I wasn't sure about was how the expansion SD memory card would be inserted. I didn't like that it is inserted in the side without any cover. I thought it might stick out, but actually it sits flush with the edge of the side. To remove it, I would have to first push it in for it to pop out. I've never had it pop out by accident.
There are a few annoyances. When I connect the iPAQ to Wi-Fi a small blue light stays on in the top-left corner. I'd prefer to have an option to turn the light off, but I can live with it. Scroll buttons on the side to move a page up and down would have been nice, that way I could hold the device and scroll on a page using the same hand. It is not convenient scrolling using the buttons on the front-bottom.
Overall, I am very pleased with the iPAQ and think it's a great value for the price. I would wait before you buy a case for it. I like the black protector that HP provided.
- This is a great PDA for running epocrates and looking up other related information when away from the computer. It has great software, but battery life is limited.
- I love it. All functions are great. It is everything you need in a handheld computer.
