- THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD is famous for its heart-pounding pace and the great visual detail of the vast armies of unique enemies. Blasting through legions of grotesque zombies and mutated monsters, players will face-off against colossal boss creatures that will test the accuracy and skill of every Wii gamer. It's what you and Wii have been waiting for.
Two grisly titles from the popular THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD series are being compiled into one action-packed horror shooter for the Wii. This title includes versions of The House of the Dead 2 and The House of the Dead 3 in one package. Players will be able to choose from six game modes, including the standard arcade and time attack options, and there will be single-player campaign and multiplayer modes for two players. Both versions (2 & 3) will feature the original arcade experience, complete with branching storylines, over six ghoul-filled game modes and bonus content. Re-live your glory days in the arcades and mow down packs of clawing, biting undead. Co-op gameplay - Grab a friend and destroy the undead together including Arcade mode and Original mode Gory arcade graphics - THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2 & 3 RETURN retains the rich arcade graphics you love

- Totally worth 30 Bucks!!!
- This game is awesome, and is 100% what I expected. Arcade mode is fun, but hard. I use the "Nyko Wii Perfect Shot" gun shell with this game and it is just like the old arcade game! The only controls in arcade mode are aim and shoot, and you shake the wii mote to reload. One person can also use two guns at the same time(while playing as 2 player)...Matrix Style!...lol. It is bada$$. Don't pass this up, it's an awesome game. EBgames has the wii perfect shot in stock now, amazon doesn't, so if you want one, get it there.
- I love Zombies burning!!!!!
- This is a great game but get the NYKO gun. I am sorry but the crossbow just sucks. The graphic are on par with the arcade machines. If you like shooting things or horror movies then getting this game is a must.
- Great Fun Especially mulitplayer
- A great price for 2 arcade favorites. Especially fun with multi-players.
A perfect game for the wii console
- Great port of the arcade game. Plays well with the wii controls. Plays even better Nyko perfect shot pistols
- I got this for my 9 year old and 15 year old son. And they love it!
- Most of my Wii-related purchases are made with the thought of being able to play them with my girlfriend, and this game is great.
I got hooked on House of the Dead a few summers ago in an arcade in Ocean City, MD, and when I saw this for $20, I got it along with a couple of Wii Perfect Shot Guns. My girlfriend and I love it. Some of the other reviews complain about graphics, but honestly, they're fine. My girlfriend and I don't mind the "no-continue" aspect of it, because we get better at it the more times we play.
Great game for the Wii, definitely reccomend it for anybody.
- My husband and I are not gamers, we bought the Wii for family fun with our 13 yr old daughter. We all love this game. Shooting the zombies is a blast, and it's a fun way to spend time together. You can tone down the gore, and the graphics are certainly good enough for what it is. A good way to spend a hot summer afternoon.
- Exactly what it should be!
- This game is exactly what it claims to be! The arcade versions of both titles playable on your Nintendo Wii! There is nothing to complain about! The controls are tight and responsive, and the game is more fun than I've had in a long time! What a blast! House of the Dead is great for when you want to sit back and relax. Great fun!
If you are one of the ones who complain because the game was not enhanced, or did not have any great, new extravagant features, then listen up..... If you buy games like this, then YOU will open the doors for Sega and the rest to release more compilations and games like this WITH ENHANCED/ADDITIONAL features!!!!
SO.... buy the game! It is totally worth it, and you will encourage others to release more great games in this genre!
Right on!
- I firmly believe that this game really only fully appeals to those that played it in the arcade. Playing on arcade mode with the Wii Zapper makes the game virtually identical to the arcade version, which lends to the nostalgia.
While I don't recommend buying this for $30 even to old school fans, I do recommend a rental. I plan on putting this on a holiday list - again, $30 is too much for a game with the limitations of an arcade game, but I'd love to own it at some point.
- I was a fan of the arcade game. So I went ahead and bought the video game for the Wii. It's was well worth the $25. Lots of shoot 'em type action. It's very close to the original arcade game. The Wii zapper gun improves the gaming experience greatly. I highly recommend it.

- Do yourself a favor and go to your nearest blockbuster store and rent this game! It is not worth buying although it is fun to play it gets boring after awhile because once you die you die! then you have to start all over again! it would have been better if their were some save points I am so glad I rented this game and didn't buy it cause it probably would have been hard to sell
- House of the Dead revisited
- I was disappointed when they brought the House of the Dead games to the Wii. The 1st letdown: I was hoping they were going to update the graphics and horrible voice-overs. I like old school games just as much as the next person, but I forgot how horrible the graphics looked; when compared to Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. The other letdown was, what happened to unlimited continues? Some may consider that cheap, but to each his own. Even an auto save after each level would have been nice. It's not like I can jam quarters in my Wii to keep on playing.
- I rated this so low because I never recvd. it. It got lost between Phila. and where I live by Atlantic City.
- Entertaining To A Point But Still A Great Let Down In All
- I bought this game thinking it would be just as entertaining as Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles game for the wii was I ever disappointed. The main disappointment for me was the graphics while I was not expecting the greatest seeing these cheap and poorly rendered RE zombie knockoffs was a joke as well as the weapons and scenery while moving around the levels of the game. The next problem I felt was the game has you play like it WAS the arcade version which means that you can't continue on after all the credits your characters have are used up after being killed which means after you used the four to seven credits and your character dies you have to start the game from the very beginning. The final problem was the voice actors they got for the game they were so awful I wished I could turn their voices off during game play and just read the subtitles you could tell they were just reading from their scripts with no feeling what so ever it was very sad and pathetic. You can upgrade your characters health points somewhat as well as get more credit points
with the game extras and there are some small extras as well but I just felt that their not worth mentioning. Also I have to say unlike with the
RE Umbrella Chronicles game this game gives you no control of the camera angles so you can't really look around for any hidden items as much as you could with REUC you do sometimes get to pick which direction you want to go but All In All there won't be much of a difference which way you go. So if you like shooting games for the Wii and for a reasonable
price this might be for you but if you are looking for any thing else in the game I say wait for another game to come your way...
- I got this game about a month ago, and have played it only once or twice. If any of you have played this in the arcade, it's the exact same game. I would only rent this game if I could go back and not purchase it. It's a direct port from the arcade. I paid about 32 bucks for it, and my friend and I nearly beat HOTD2 in about 15 minutes. I'm not kidding. You could probably easily beat both games in about 2 or 3 hours. RENT THIS GAME! It is not worth your money to buy it! Take my advice!
- Incredibly Disappointing and Boring!
- I was really looking forward to this game because I wanted something fun and silly to play with friends, and what's more fun that shooting zombies? Well, I bought it shortly after it came out, and after only a few plays, I'm ready to trade it in (not to mention it's set my "rent before you buy" policy in concrete). I knew it was an arcade style game, but the fact that it seems like they just took the arcade game and put it on a disk was disappointing. It's worse because it's not even a good arcade game!
The Good:
-You get to shoot zombies.
The Bad:
-The dialogue is stilted and poorly written.
-The graphics are very 90's arcade game, blocky and kind of jerky when they move.
-You can't save, which ok, it's an arcade style game. BUT...
-It's the exact same every time you play! After just a few plays, my boyfriend and I would be like "watch out for the one coming on the left" or "don't shoot that human around the corner."
-There really aren't that many extra credits to earn, so you die, a lot. Which then brings me back to it being the same every time you play.
-You have no control over where, when, or how you move or even where you look. Again, I know it's an arcade game, but the rest of it was just so boring that I was aggravated by the inability to move.
I guess I've just been spoiled by games that are at least a little different each time you play or are a little more exciting. Now, if I had paid $10 or $15 for this game, I would just shrug it off as a loss. But this game is NOT worth $30.

- Excellent Game... But Could Have Been Slightly Better.
- I love the House of the Dead series, and I just recently heard it was out for the Wii. So I decided to buy it, and I was extremely happy with the game, or at least what was in the game.
This is House of the Dead 2+3, and everything is exactly as how I remember it in the arcade. The only thing I think they could have included is House of the Dead 1 as well on the game. But this is definitely worth a buy! Awesome accuracy, fun extras, a ton of re-play value! If you've played it before, it's even more exciting, but if you haven't played before, BUY IT! It's well worth every penny!
Also, I'd recommend either getting the Nyko Perfect Shot or the Wii Zapper with this game. It only adds to the realism! I'd probably prefer the Perfect Shot over the Zapper, but both make this game EVEN BETTER!
- Alot of people have statedthat a drawback to this game is that you can't resume after quitting, or losing all of your lives. This to me keeps the game true to the arcade version, and makes geting through all of the levels, (and beating the game) more rewarding!
I love this game, and use it with my "Perfect Shot" pistol.
- I love Zombies burning!!!!!

- This game is pretty hard at first as you may have read from other reviews or experienced first hand in the arcade. You are limited to a certain number of continues and life but the more you play the more you can increase those through unlockable continues and other game modes. It is worth playing though if you are into zombie shoot em ups. Fast paced most of the time, really fun with two players and gun Wiimote attachments. You don't need the nunchuk attachent for anything so just the regular styled zapper is best for this game. My opinion: A definite buy for 20 or less. Don't get frustrated at first, keep playing until you unlock more content.
- Great Fun Especially mulitplayer
- A great price for 2 arcade favorites. Especially fun with multi-players.
