- If you hate ironing, this one is for you....
- I originally was going to purchase another steamer but upon reading the reviews, am I ever glad I didn't. It was more expensive and not good quality. Then I checked out this one that had SO MANY positive responses and WOW - they weren't kidding. I love this machine. I can whip through my ironing in no time. It takes no time to catch on (hang up your shirts - put the wand on the inside of the shirt, hold the bottom of the shirt as you wand down the shirt and WRINKLES DISAPPEAR LIKE MAGIC). It's that easy. I've even got my husband doing his shirts. Seems like I've usually got a hundred things going on at any given time so this was a huge TIMESAVER for me.
- This steamer is great for me b/c I hate to press my clothes. I did some research and brought this steamer. It starts to work very fast and it works well for me. It will not give you dry cleaning result so if that's what you are looking for then you have to iron or bring it to the dry cleaner.
- After reading other consumer reviews, I bought this steamer. I works unbelievably well, and saved me alot of money already. It is sturdy, heats up quickly, can be moved around without much effort, and gives some garments another wearing before having to be dry cleaned. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
- Excellent Product. Worth every dollar!
- This is a great product and is very versatile.
It works incredibly well for almost everything
that needs to be ironed...except no more ironing!
It is easy to use and serves its purpose. Totally
Worth it!
- Outstanding!! (Even if it IS an iron:-) )
- Ok, I HATE to iron and will avoid it at all costs, but this Jiffy Steamer J-2000 does have me looking more put together AND, I don't dread the whole ironing action quite so much! It's quick-heats up in seconds, (literally) doesn't 'spit' out water like most steam irons do, and in the time it takes to iron a blouse or even a cotton sweater, my hubby's still touching up his shirt (I say, 'touching up,' because I send his shirts out to the cleaners, but being a former Marine, he's really picky and is always 'fixing' his clothes!) and I could do three more shirts/sweaters-but lets face it...I ain't gonna! Well worth the moola and takes up less space than an ironing board....
- First steamer ever bought. Heats up in about 30 seconds and does a very good job on short and long sleeve polo type shirts in just a few seconds. Very well built, sturdy. Got it for my wife who loves it.
- I have had the Jiffy J-2000 steamer for about 3 months now and love it. I initially had some trouble with steaming my thumbs (ouch!), but have learned how to maneuver better since then. I wouldn't recommend children use this product due to the potential for serious burns (but that is a great testament to how powerful this thing steams!). It is fantastic for ironing my husbands business shirts. Before, I dreaded this until I had about 20 shirts lined up, needing to be ironed. I've wasted many Saturdays at the ironing board. I can now have a beautiful, completely wrinkle-free shirt in about 2 minutes (I've timed myself!). It does take a little practice to learn how to stabilize the clothes while steaming (they try to run away from you), but it has been an excellent purchase for me.
- Poor Looks; Outstanding Craftsmanship
- I'll make it simple: If you are looking for a home-edition garment steamer, your top 2 choices in the marketplace will likely be the Jiffy 2000 and the Rowenta 8100.
I tested both for 10 hours; on a 1 to 10 scale:
Jiffy (Looks = 6; Engineering = 10; Handling = 9; Craftsmanship = 10).
It looks like a mop bucket on wheels but it performs like a jet engine; every part of this machine from the plate at the bottom of the unit to the steam handle is built for rugged usage.
Rowenta (Looks = 10; Engineering = 5; Handling = 7; Crafsmanship = 4).
It looks like a UFO but performs like a Pinto with much less steaming power; it is built as a toddler's toy having most parts made with inexpensive plastic including the watertank base and valve: pull the machine a single foot OR tilt it a mere 1 inch and you will experience a slow-building cascade.
Buy the Rowenta 8100 as a decorative piece to make your closet look good.
Buy the Jiffy 2000 as a garment steamer to make your clothes look good.
- A very solid US made product that does a great job and saves my wife $$$ on dry cleaning bills - she loves it. The comments from other Amazon customers were very helpful in my deciding to purchase this product - so thanks.
- First I had the portable small jiffy, it didn't do well at all so I returned it and raked over another $100 for this one. I am glad I did! It is built to commercial standards Brass fittings everywhere post that looks like it was machined out of a solid piece of aluminum... The best part about it is that it heats up quick and takes out wrinkles in seconds. I was very happy with my purchase. If you look at comparable models like the Rowenta steamer you appreciate the quality of this machine, they cost the same amount but the Rowenta is flimsy and cheap looking. I've been told they don't work well either.

- I bought this for my boyfriend for Christmas and ended up returning it. Amazon made it so easy to return it, so 5 stars for Amazon! Basically the Jiffy Steamer did not work on jeans or any heavier weight cotton clothes. I steamed a silk scarf before going out one night and it worked well for that, but it didn't cut it for anything else.
- I purchased this based on the positive reviews here. Here's my experience. It definitely does not approach an iron as far as making your clothes looking sharp, finished. It sort of takes some wrinkles out of some types of clothes. Even after "pressing", your clothes still look a little rumpled.
Forget about using this on any type of heavy fabric like pants or knit shirts. The only thing I found it did ok (and only ok) were light-weight cotton shirts.
I would say it's faster for sure but I'm returning it. It just doesn't do the job.
- Fades wrinkles, does not free them (they're still trapped there)
- I was disappointed when receiving this steamer. First of all let me say, I dislike ironing simply b/c it takes forever. I'm not even looking for that crisp creased look. However, when I'm done ironing hours later, I know my items will be wrinkle free. I hoped that would've been the case with this steamer, no wrinkles shorter amount of time. Sadly that it was not. It took forever to steam each of my garments, then when I was done, the wrinkles were not gone, just faded. I tried this on different types of fabrics (silk, satin, cotton, polyester blends, etc) and it was all the same (faded, still there wrinkles) except for one pair of wool pants where the wrinkles magically faded.
After trying this out for a week using different fabrics and techniques, the only thing that improved was using this steamer with another person. Just holding the clothes steady to steam against the wall doesn't work well. Having another person hold the clothes taut for you while you steam works the best, except when you accidently steam the other person and they don't want to help much anymore.
Pros: holds plenty of water for lots of steam, has wheels to carry around, feels sturdy, good for heavy fabrics and great for wool
Cons: wheels don't lock (moves too much), hose gets hot, spurts a bit even when held correctly, didn't leave items wrinkle free for me unless someone held clothes taut while I steamed.
Sadly I borrowed a cheap conair steamer from a friend and it worked slightly better than this item, it got the wrinkles off of my delicate shirts which was all I wanted.
- I bought the J2000 steamer because I was tired of ironing or paying to go to the dry cleaners. The steamer seems to produce plenty of steam, but I was unable to get the wrinkles out of my cotton dress shirts (the reason why I bought it). After several failed attempts, I got frustrated and ended up reverting back to the iron. I'm wondering if it only works on certain types of fabrics, like wrinkle-free or silk. I haven't completely given up on it, but so far it hasn't delivered as I expected.
- After red all the good review, I bought it.
After the first try, I return it.
The bottom line is it does not work well enough to replace the iron.
It seems to me to bug a car can only drive 45 mile per hour and can not get on high-way.
- 6 out of 10 wrinkles removed!!!
- I'm not sure if the steamer works well because this is my first one. I might not even be any good at steaming because I can't seem to make my clothes look smooth and I keep burning my fingers. The unit, although easy to put together is a monster in the closet. It takes up most of the space in there. The rod doesn't seem to hold the hanger all that well and I feel like I'm chasing my clothes all around it while burning not only my finger, but also my legs because of the super stiff hot hose. I only wish I hadn't thrown out the original box, because I can't return it now.

- This is a great product, and will pay for itself in a few months on dry cleaning savings. Its better for the environment as well. I am very pleased with my Jiffy steamer, and it is simple and quick to use.
- Wished I'd bought it sooner
- I bouth the Jiffy Steamer J-2000 after reading reviews posted on Amazon. One of the best purchases I've made in years.
This steamer works like a charm. My clothes thick and thin were smoothed out within minutes. It is easy to use and it fits neatly inside my closet.
My only complaint is that the hose can get pretty hot so you'd have to take extra precautions, else you may get hurt.
If you dislike ironing like me, this is the solution.
Wished I'd bought it sooner.
- I am so happy I read other reviews on this product and made the decision to purchase it. I would highly recomend this to anyone that is looking for a steamer. If you are looking to freshen up or get those hanger marks out of your clothes, this is the steamer for you. I had a pair of cotton pants folded in a pile, they looked pretty bad and I tried the steamer on them and all the fold marks came out with ease!! Really worth the money spent.

- Great at gettng rid of wrinkles, but not sturdy
- I am a stylist and use this to steam clothing for photo shoots. It works great on all fabrics, I use it for denim, silk, satin, cotton, nylon, ect. The only thing that bothers me is that it is very unstable. We have two and one constantly leaks water all over the floor because it has fallen over multiple times. If the garment that you are steaming is too heavy then the steamer may fall over. Also, the pole to hang the clothes on becomes loose after doing the front and turning the garment to steam the back. The pole is only one height which makes it complicated to steam floor length gowns.
If anyone has trouble getting wrinkles out, try steaming from the inside of the garment. If there are still wrinkles then they are probably permanent. I've had knitted t-shirts that still have faint wrinkles after multiple steams, it probably has something to do with the production of the garment, not the steamer.
- I bought this for my wife to cut down on her ironing time and boy was it worth it. If you are looking to buy a steamer, go with this one. I have recommended it to my family and we are all extremely satisfied.
- Works well for many fabrics, but not all
- I've used a hand-held steamer in the past, back when I had lots more polyester clothing ;) For many synthetics like that and nylon, thin silks, etc. it will take 100% of the wrinkle out, no problem. Even does well with thick synthetic blend khakis.
For coarser or natural fabrics, like cotton shirts, etc. you'll manage to soften some of the wrinkle but not get rid of them.. good enough for a casual work day for example, but nowhere near as neat as ironing.
The Jiffy is pretty convenient because its always standing there and all you need to do is hit a switch; steam comes forth after a very short wait. On the other hand my ironing table and iron are tucked out of the way so if clothing can be steamed I can do it in a 'Jiffy' :)
- Great steamer but it needs to stand taller
- This is a super steamer that does the job quickly. My problem is I am tall and I need the clothes to hang higher than this will allow. Any solution?

- I'm a steamer fan, and this one works quickly and well. My only complaint is that it's so tall. I've had steamers in the past where the pole telescoped down to a more inconspicuous height. That said, this one is ready to go very quickly and emits the appropriate amount of steam, making for speedy and effective use.
