- LO UNICO QUE TENGO QUE HACER ES CONECTAR EL MOLINO DE ALIMENTOS A MI BATIDORA Y MOLER TODA CLASE DE CARNES, YO LO USO MAS QUE TODO PARA MOLER POLLO Y PAVO, DEMASIADO BUENO.
- Love this attachment for making apricot jam. My daughter has one and we have been exchanging back & forth for about 5 years, I finally realized I needed one of my own. The only way to go!!
- Excellent way to slash up to 50% off each pound of meat
- As an avid reader of money saving blogs and web sites (Dollar Stretcher is a favorite) I read many times about the cost savings of purchasing a roast and having it ground by the butcher. My mom does this at her Publix grocery store in Florida but my local grocery store in Wisconsin refuses to do it. Hello KA FGA! I am completely impressed by what a fantastic job it does. It grinds perfectly to the texture I want. After several experiments, my family actually prefers the coarser texture for certain dishes (tacos especially.) I love the fact that I can buy a couple of hunks of Black Angus boneless roasts when it goes on sale for $1.99/lb. and come home and grind it myself to my exact specs. Not only is it much less expensive than the high fat pre-ground stuff, it is much safer. The less surface area to a piece of meat, the better. The FGA is a fantastic cost saving tool. I find it easy to assemble, use and clean. As I buy in bulk, I only use it about once every 5 or 6 weeks. There is a small bit of buildup inside but such a small amount it does not affect anything. If one were grinding up a huge amount of high fat meat, I would stop and clean it out. Should take you no more than 20 seconds total. Love this attachment. It has already paid for itself!
- I like this product, with one exception. The plastic pusher should be made of wood, it seems a little on the flimsy side being made from plastic.
- Great Attachment for the Kitchen Aid Mixer!
- I just started to grind my own meat due to the high cost of food and I purchased this last month and I love it. It does a top notch job at grinding all sorts of meat. I purchased a whole chicken, cut it up, and ground the skin and all and it didn't miss a beat. I've also ground lamb and sirloin and it worked well with those too. I would highly recommend it. Clean up is easy too. It comes apart easily and all the pieces cleaned up nicely.
- Very nice product and works very well grinding with little effort. It surprised me it worked this well. I recommend buying as attachment for Kitchen Aid Mixer. My wife uses it for meat and vegetables and is completely satisfied.
- I bought the KitchenAid Food Grinder because I bought my husband the Kitchen Aid Mixer and he loves hamburger but it has become so expensive and we try to eat the one with less fat. With the Kitchen Aid Grinder, we can watch for sales on all kinds of beef and grind it in the grinder and it is cheaper and absolutely delicious. We also make a sandwich which all my family loves. You ask the deli for a chunk of bologna 1/2 0r 1lb. (depends on how much you want) Then get a lg jar of polish spears or just some kind of dill pickles. Take the bologna and grind it, then take 1/2 jar of pickles for 1/2 lb bologna (1 jar for lb.) Grind the pickles into another bowl. Mix together with mayonaisse (we like Helmanns the best). Its up to you how much of the pickle juice you'll want if you wnat more flavor put some juice in, just try not to get it to wet. If you have or get a grinder I hope you'll try this. It sounds awful to people but once they taste it they usually get hooked. Again a great machine and I'm sure you can come up with some other recipes or ways to use it. If you do I'd love to have you share them with me. My email is: [...]
- I love this attachment for my Kitchenaid
- Easy to use. Pretty easy to clean up. Works great. Has several uses but I buy chuck roasts on sale then cut part for shish-kebabs and part in strips (faster and easier than chunks)to feed into the grinder (2x) for hamburgers, meatloaf etc. When I was checking reviews I read only a couple negatives from people who expected this to grind up anything/any size, like a commercial unit. Just treat it nicely and don't expect it to be what it isn't.
- We needed a meat grinder and our old manual one was beyond safe use. Researched manufacturer's website, then on to Amazon to get reviews & price. Both were so good we ordered via overnight delivery. Works great -- my wife enjoyed her ground up roast beef with gherkins and mayo the next day! Excellent price, service, and easy process.
- KitchenAid FGA Food Grinder Attachment
- I highly recommend this product. It grinds much better than expected and has yielded great hamburgers and a great meatloaf. I have only tried grinding meat thus far, but the product can grind other foods like bread, cheese, etc.
If you want to be able to grind your own meat, so that you know exactly what is in your burgers, then this grinder is for you.
The price is also reasonable.

- Great Accessory For Killing Your KitchenAid Mixer!!! Walk Away From This Piece of Junk!!!!!!!!!
- If you want to kill or ruin your K'Aid Mixer, then this accessory is the perfect one to do it!!
I bought this piece of junk last year and thought; "Oh, goody!!! Now I got a food grinder for my K'Aid mixers." Boy, was I wrong!!! This unit is just a worthless piece of junk that should be left right where you see it; on the store shaelves!!!
I went to use this for the very first time, and it made my K-5SS Stand Mixer's motor start to labor badly - amost to the point where it was about to stop working and die altogether!!
Liquid had leaked into the transmission and messed up the gears badly!! I was almost faced with a $125.00 repair bill!!! I had to finish the job with this unit attached to the smaller K-45SS.
But luckily, the mixer began to rebound in the days ahead and has mended itself back up to full operating speed!! It works fine now. But as a precaution, I sent this ill-fated piece of junk back to where I bought it from!!
I've since bought a separate electric food grinder, which works beautifully!! Do yourself a favor. leave this in the stores!! Also, it's shown with a wooden pusher. That it false advertising because, ;like the rest of the unit, the pusher is plastic now, had been for a long while!!!
Don't buy this. It's and ill-fated piece of junk!!!!!!!!!

- A more miserable add-on is hard to imagine-
- This item has gotten one star, simply because there is no provision in the review format for zero stars or negative stars, which it richly deserves.
It jams, it chokes, it's a bother to clean...putting it kindly...but if you're attempting to grind pork for sausage you'll find yourself cleaning out where it's gummed itself up it after every few pieces. Which means, overall, that using a hand-cranked grinder like a Porkert is far less work than this ( let's remember this is a family audience) ...thing.
The cutter and the plate are made of cheap stamped metal and they don't work nearly as well as the old and long-gone all-metal version of this attachment.
I was warned not to get one of these and instead look for an older set used, advice I wish I had taken. Save yourself the time and trouble and get yourself a good old hand crank meat grinder, just like Grandma had.
- Do not buy this attachment. We used it(following the instructions) for about 10 min. grinding about 3 lbs of lean meat and the main drive gear of the MIXER broke. We replaced the gear (no help from KitchenAid), and tried it again on some pork trim and after a few minutes and less than 1 lb. it happened again! Do not waste your time and money on this attachment- buy a meat grinder- we have since bought a waring pro M800 and I recommned it.
- Love the mixer; mixed feelings about the meat grinder
- Setting up the meat grinder on your Kitchenmaid mixer is easy. The attachment is very robust and sturdy. There are not a lot of moving parts to worry about, and cleaning is easy - just pull out the grinder, remove the large inside screw, and remove the plates and wash.
Why 2 stars?
Well, I tested the attachment by running it dry, which should not hurt the grinder (the grinding plate and blade are flat). After running for about 45 seconds I said, "Wow, this is cool." Turned off the machine and began to remove the plate and blade. "Wait! What is that dirt collecting under the plate?!" It looked like small metal shavings. "Perhaps I should not be running it dry," I thought. So I put some oil on the blade and plate. I ran the machine for a few minutes and noticed a build up of a dirty oil under and on the plate. The small dirt/metal shavings were mixing with the oil.
I cleaned the whole thing and still got the same results. Will be returning the grinder unit to the store. I don't want metal shavings/dirt in my food. (Note: I imagine that this problem is not visible if you are putting food through the grinder because the dirt/shavings are taken away in the food.)
Still love the mixer, though (5 stars)
- This came free as a promotion with my Professional 6 model. It might be me, but I used this for the first time to grind some meat. It worked fine, I hand washed all of the parts and dried them. The next time I used it was for cheese. This time all the cheese that came out had this grayish stuff on it that looked like grease. GROSS! So I thought I must not have cleaned it properly. So again I washed it well and the same thing happened. I wrote to Kitchenaid and got no response so, it became cabinet clutter and I haven't used it since! I buy my cheese and meat shredded/ground now.
- We replaced our food grinder after 15 years of hard use. The new cutting blade is junk, the body of the unit falls to one side, the coarse die is much bigger than the original and it doesn't do the job nearly as well as the one we have had for 15 years.

- I got it as a gift for a good friend of mine. She had been wanting one for a while. She seems to enjoy it. First thing she used it for was to make ground beef for chili, which was delicious. She said it worked great and had no complaints other than that it was difficult and gross to clean. But I guess I would expect this from something that grinds meat. Apparently if you use it to grind bread afterwards it gets all of the unwanted leftover flesh out of the grinder. But I guess from what she said I would consider buying one for my kitchenaid and therefore would recommend it to others.
- Love this attachment for making apricot jam. My daughter has one and we have been exchanging back & forth for about 5 years, I finally realized I needed one of my own. The only way to go!!
- I bought this one for my DH. He has been really happy with it, but I should say this is not a commercial food grinder that you will be able to grind up 90 lbs of meat at a time without any babying. The first time we used it, we learned quickly that any of the white connective tissue will clog the grinding plates. For our home use, making a little bit of ground meat here and there, this works great. We bought it with the sausage stuffer attachment and made some great deer sausages.
- My wife thinks it works well. Makes all our breakfast sausage. Just follow directions about how different foods grind best and you'll get good results.
- The food grinder works nicely for grinding walnuts. With hazlenuts I had problem because they are tougher. I have to process it first and then grind it. The machine gets hot after a while using it for grinding. However the main concern that I have is that the metalic parts are not stainless steal and after washing should be dried out carefully. Otherwise you see the patch of rust all over it and should scrub them out. For such price I expected a little more attention to details like this.

- The grinder attachment works perfectly every time. For raw meat I grind it twice and the texture comes out just right. I suggest grinding the meat when it's half-defrosted as I noticed the meat gets stuck easily when it is completely defrosted or fresh.
Like other reviewers have suggested, try to keep the job done in 15 minutes as the motor in the mixer can get really warm and feels like it's about to burn out...! I would even suggest 10 minutes at a time as I don't want to overworked my mixer and end up paying big $$$ for the repair!! And I also suggest getting the optional "plate" for a larger work area on top, perfect for grinding the meat the second time without having to scoop-press-scoop-press...
Cleanup is easy with a dishwasher, or handwash with a brush. Just use extra dishwashing liquid as the plastic can get greasy! Overall I'm satisfied with my purchase.
- I like this product, with one exception. The plastic pusher should be made of wood, it seems a little on the flimsy side being made from plastic.
