- This efficient and powerful food processor wastes no space? or time! That's because it utilizes an innovative design that includes a 9-cup work bowl for large jobs and a 4-cup bowl with mini-blade for smaller tasks. A high-performance induction motor chops, blends, shreds, slices and kneads with ease using a variety of interchangeable blades. Switch between continuous and pulse processing using the simple touch control pad. Full-size feed tube and pusher. One-year replacement warranty.

- I'm so glad my son-in-law bought this food processor.
- My son-in-law is a serious cook. He selected this food processor. While visiting my daughter and son-in-law, we have been enjoying using it. When we return home, we'll miss it.
We are cooking Red River Gumbo for a Cookbook Fair. It has collards and pork in it. We ground those using the food processor. My son-in-law loves using it to prepare gyros. This processor really does a fantastic job.
- This is the first food processor I have ever purchased and did a lot of research before purchasing this item. It is wonderful, the machine is quiet and sturdy and does an excellent job. The attachments are great and I am so happy with this purchase. I specifically use this to puree vegetables to put in my kids food to make their meals healthier. Overall, five star rating, would highly recommend!
- This is my first large food processor, so I don't have a lot of experience to compare it to. I love this machine! It's easy to use, easy to clean and store, and very heavy duty and good quality. I went by the brand when making my decision and am not dissappointed!
- This KitchenAid is the best, large enough to get the job done in minutes. The mini bowl is also very handy I just love it and a couple of my friends are also getting one. They love the size especially if you bake you can triple the recipes. It's GREAT!
- Amazing machine, better than the other brand I had
- Before I purchased the KitchenAid Food processor, I had the 3-cup Cusinart. The Cusinart's motor burned out after 1.5 years of use. I have to say the bowl on the KitchenAid feels way sturdier than the Cusinart. Everything on the KitchenAid feels of better quality. Another bonus...it is pretty quiet when it runs. I'm very happy with my purchase.
- I've been looking for a food processor for a long time, reading reviews, checking Consumer Reports, etc., and when I came across this model and all the reviews on Amazon, I decided to buy it.
I absolutely love this food processor - it does everything that I'd hoped for, it is extremely easy to use and to clean, and it looks very handsome on my counter. The workmanship and materials are very sturdy and, compared to other food processors I've heard at friends' homes, it is not noisy at all.
The very first recipe that I made was to puree some apricots, grind almonds, and combine all other ingredients to stuff chicken breasts. My guests were blown away with the creamy consistency of the apricots. I also made the appetizers using the food processor and each one turned out superb.
I am truly impressed with this unit. The price is well worth it.
- Bought this based on reviews. Everything It's supposed to be. Chrome is easy to clean. A little heavy but I feel that's a sign of good quality. All parts are put together well. Nothing feels flimsy. Worth the money
- KitchenAid KFP740CR 9-Cup Food Processor with 4-Cup Mini Bowl, Chrome
i really like this machine. it is simple and quiet and i can handle it very well. it is easy to use and does not have many buttons to operate. it looks nice too and i hope it will last for many years. no buyers regrets on this one!
- I finally have a powerful, elegant, top of the line food processor! I am very happy. The price is good, also.
- Great Piece Of Kitchen Equipment
- I was planning on purchasing the 12 cup model, but was given this one as a gift for Christmas. It is indeed a wonderful kitchen helper. It is quiet and powerful. It makes quick work out of my sofrito recipe which includes, peppers, tomatoes and herbs. I am so happy with it. I may still purchase the 12 cup model, but in the meantime, I am quite satisfied with this one.

- looks beautiful......but this thing is HUGE
- My low rating is only due to the incorrect dimensions referenced on the Amazon website. Sadly, I had to return this item. The height for the product is incorrectly reflected as 14 1/2 inches......it is closer to 15 1/2 inches. Since I was limited to a max clearance of 14 1/2 inches, I was unable to fit this unit on my counter. Since it is also a heavy product, I really didn't want to lug the product in and out of my cabinets as it weights at least 15 lbs. Since I already have to do this for my Kitchenaid Mixer, I know first hand how much of an inconvenience this is.
The Chrome finish however is very beautiful and although I didn't even turn this unit on, it is a recommended product by Consumer Reports. If size is an issue in your kitchen, I would strongly recommend searching for these products in a store to take some measurements before buying as they are BIG and will take up a lot of space. For me....well, I'll just have to keep looking.
- I listened to all these reviewers and now I regret it. I am a very heavy user of my food processor and I've been through a few. 1) Yes, the machine weighs a lot and that gives one the impression it is a "heavy duty" machine. In reality, the plastic parts are quite inferior to brands I've used in the past and I often feel like the plastic parts on the lid are about to break when I twist it off to stop the machine and then twist it back on again, 2) I have to spend twice as much time "forcing" the food into the blades by hand than any other processor I've ever used. This is a sign of poor engineering design, 3) Yes, the lid does overlap the outer container to prevent spills on the outer rim, but this is more than negatively compensated for when you consider the short inner stem encourages an awful mess around the outer stem and up into the blade chamber...all this equals extra cleaning time and special cleaning tools, 4) the overlapping lid, while preventing spills during prossessing, encourages a huge mess when you try to take the lid off. Dry blends get stuck in the rim and are jetisuned all over your counter when you attempt to take off the lid, 5) The tiny hole in the feed tube is too large to do what it is intended to do, drip oil into the basket slowly enough to make mayonaise. You may as well just poor it in by hand because you'll never get a decent mayonaise using this feature. I gave my 20 year old Hamilton Beach Food Processor to my daughter-in-law when I got this one and now I wish I had it back!
- Replacement parts may be a problem
- I own an older version of this product, and its performance has been stellar over the years. However, I have needed a replacement bowl cover and bowl for many months because the bowl cover is coming apart at the rim (something that happened fairly early on, I might add) and the bowl's safety mechanism is missing the appropriate stop making it a matter of having to hold the lid in place with one hand while pushing food through the chute with the other, otherwise the cover slips out of place and the processor shuts off. Worse still is when the bowl cover slips past the broken off stop, making the lid impossible to remove without inserting a small screw driver and manually pushing the safety lever in the handle of the bowl down while sliding the lid back into place. Since they are no longer actively manufacturing my version, which is less than seven years old, I have found it impossible to find a replacement for the bowl cover, which I know has been on back-order since at least May of 2007. Kitchenaid promised replacements by January of 2008, and now has revised the date to April 2008. You should be aware, if you purchase one of these products, that replacement parts may be exceedingly difficult to obtain as your processor gets older. This may be true of other brands as well, I don't know, but I have finally decided to give up waiting for my replacement parts to come and have purchased another food processor OF ANOTHER BRAND. I know one thing, I will NEVER buy another Kitchenaid product, based on how poorly they have handled this backorder issue. And I am not alone. There is a huge backorder for the bowl cover, so it is a design flaw they cannot overcome and will not admit to, in my estimation. Instead they leave their customers hanging in limbo with no answers and no way to make full use of one of their products, and a fairly expensive one at that. Beware.

- This is a nice machine; but it is very heavy & not easy to move around. It does the job very nicely otherwise.
- Everything I was looking for!
- I received this in the mail a few weeks ago. I had been wanting a food processor for a while, being sick of using my previous method of crushing foods, the "culinary hammer" way. (for those of you still without a food processor, it's wrapping your food in a ziploc baggie then taking a small clean hammer to it). This machine works much, much better than that. I would describe myself as an early-twenties, novie-foodie, with a penchant for spanish cuisine. That being said, as someone who is just getting started, I really like this machine. I was used to a tiny, one-cup processor my parents used to avoid washing their cumbersome large machine.
While this machine is larger than what I am used to, it's not really a pain in the butt. The blades work well, its easy to clean. It's fairly intuitive to use if you have ever used a food processor before, but might take some getting used to if you have not. So far, I've used it to make hummus, pico de gallo, potato chips (with the slicer blade), aioli, and to cream butter and sugar together (which, those of you out there without a hand mixer know can be more than difficult). My quality of life (in the kitchen, being a lazy person who likes good food) has greatly improved.
I would recommend this machine. But I'm not the veteran chef who can tell you about blade sharpness-holding, or electrical power or whatnot. I just wanted a machine that had buttons that were easy to clean and had enough power to do what I wanted. I've got that.
Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to wonder how I got on without it.

- Slices, dices, shreds with massive power. You should see what this baby can do to a block of mozzarella! I don't think making salsa will ever be the same (because it will be so easy!).
The unit is very heavy, so to get maximum use, be sure to clear some space on the counter.
My only complaint is that this model does not support the juice extractor that kitchen aid makes for other 9 cup models (only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars). Some sites suggest that their extractor will work on this model, but I emailed Kitchen Aid and they confirmed what others have said, you can't use their extractor on this particular 9-cup model. Boo.
Great product nonetheless!

- KITCHEN AID 9 CUP FOOD PROCESSOR WITH MINI CUP
- I HAVE USED THE "MINI" KITCHEN AID FOOD PROCESSOR FOR SO LONG AND DECIDED TO GO FOR THE REAL THING. I REALLY LIKE THE LARGER ONE AND WISH I HAD MADE AN INVESTMENT IN IT LONG AGO. IT IS EASY TO CLEAN AND OPERATE AND SO FAR HAS DONE A "GREAT" JOB. THE "ONLY" DRAWBACK IS IT IS "VERY" HEAVY, SO REMEMBER "POSITION IT AND LEAVE IT."
