- I have been pleased with the 9 cup. It's so quiet and quick. Though it is a bit heavy to drag out of the cabinet, I'm using it regularly. I was not impressed with the 3 cup insert when I tried to chop onions. The large bowl and blade work great, however.

- Great!! Love it. I was afraid it would be too big to use on countertop, but it is wonderful. Chops a lot at a time or use the small bowl and chop a little.
- Quality product and fast shipping
- Replacing another food processor, no comparison. Wonderful product. Shipping was fast. Love it!
- I have only used this product twice and found it fits my needs perfectly. I would recommend it to everyone that needs to purchase a food processor.
- Kitchenaide 9 cup processor
- I originally purchased a 7 cup processor without doing much research on it. It only came with one reversible blade. I took that back and bought this one. It was marked down (by almost half) because the box had a mark on it. Big deal. The processor has been awesome. I have used both the main bowl for salsa and the mini bowl for stir fry. I couldn't be happier with this processor.

- We saw this 9-cup food processor in a Dept store for $168.00 (not including 7% sales tax). My wife saw some of the TV chefs using the prosessor, and they highly recommended it. I got it through Amazon for $30 less, no tax, and it was delivered FedEx to our front steps within 4 days of placing the order...a full week before it was supposed to be here. The machine is excellent, and works as advertised. This is a robust, well-built machine, and I expect it to last a lifetime.
- There is nothing like this food processor. It is heavy duty and you can tell how powerful the motor is the first time you turn it on. I was shocked, however, at how QUIET it actually is. When you feel how heavy it is, you'll think, man I bet this beast is loud....but then you turn it on and it purrs! Amazing product. I'll always buy KitchenAid from now on....no more Cuisinart for me.
- Quiet, powerful, and easy to clean, this processor is great. Excellent value as well.
- So I did much research before purchasing this product. I read tons of reviews, went to the store to look at it up close and personal. I have to say, I have had it only a month or so, but it is everything I could have wanted in a food processor. It is easy to clean, the blades are sharp (careful!), the speed is perfect, and the attachements/slicer blades work well too. Here are some helpful tips that others (reviewers) complained about:
1. Please have some COMMON SENSE, meaning: this is a food processor not a blender. Do not use this to make soup. Buy a blender or hand blender for that. If there is too much liquid in the bowl it will spill out onto your counter.
2.people complained about getting the mini bowl out of the large bowl, easy: use a spoon or knife and put it between the 2 at the top and it will pop right out.
3.yes it can get messy. but thats what cooking is all about (well not all about....)dont over stuff it. its not perfect, no machine is.
I cook everyday- from scratch. This machine is amazing. I couldnt cook without it. There is nothing it cant do (except for soup!).
5 stars!
- best countertop appliance I have!!!!
- as much as i love my kitcheaid stand mixer, this food processor is wonderful!! it is quiet and i use it to make icing instead of using my mixer. it chops and slices and shreds and whips....i shredded a dozen zuchinni in less than 2 minutes. the 4 cup bowl makes a great mini processor.
this thing comes with a spatula, mini bowl and small blade, the bowl and large blade and 2 disks. i see nothing wrong with the way they slice in spite of what another reviewer saId. i just cannot find anything wrong with this machine. it is hard to believe something with a half horse power motor can be this quite. it is more quiet than my hair dryer and i only wish my wheat grinder was this quiet.. this food processor purrs like a kitten.
there is nothing about this machine that i don't like and i use it several times a week. it mashes potatoes in no time and they turn out very smooth and creamy.
everything about this machine is wonderful..before this i had a hamilton beach food processor and i got a lot of good out of it but this thing really is built like a tank, just like another reviewer said. this thing will last for years. it is my all time favorite kitchen toy!!! have not used the dough blade to make bread yet....

- I bought the KitchenAid 9-cup food processor KFP740 in December of 2005. I have used it carefully, kept it clean, never dropped or damaged it, and not used it all that often actually. Fourteen months after I purchased it, the large plastic bowl began to deteriorate. Little pieces started breaking off it. I wrote the company, and they said they could do nothing except tell me where to take it for repairs. Now, 20 months after I bought the food processor, it has totally died. The handle came off in my hands, and as I examined it, it crumbled into dozens of plastic pieces. The machine is completely unusable now. It looked nice and ran well as long as its cheap casing lasted--but beware if you want this to survive beyond warranty.
- Breadmakers Beware - this is not the one for you!
- After 20+ years of owning a Cuisinart, I switched to this food processor because of concerns over Cuisinart quality. What a mistake this food processor is, especially if you want to use it for making bread.
- Dough does not ball up in this unless you run it forever, and even then the kneading is not as smooth as with a Cuisinart.
- The mini-bowl is a pain to remove.
- The unit is massively heavy, even moving it forward a couple of inches on the counter is a chore.
- The rubber feet stick to the counter and get dislodged when moving the unit.
- Huge chunks are left over between the blade and the lid when gratign or slicing.
Do I like anything about it? No. This is a dog, buyers beware.
- It has nothing to do with Kitchen Aid, it is a good processor, but it lacks adequate cutting components so that everything comes out virtually chopped and ground. I mean there is no way to alter the coarseness or finesse of the cuts. Would not have gotten it, had I known it was like that, because I had an old Cuisinart and that was in comparison a work of art and great to use. Furthermore, the recipe book sent along by Kitchen Aid, was meager and a grim example of what I was trying to express all along.
- I have long been a kitchen aid fan and am very disappointed in this processor. I have a relatively new machine with light use, but beyond warranty, and the large plastic bowl broke while chopping tomatoes. One minute it was fine, then a piece broke from the handle. Now the handle falls apart and I must hold it just so in order for the machine to work. I wouldn't call this durable. I have also been dissatisfied by the short center post that allows fluids to leak when the bowl contains just over an inch of food. Bad design! I regret having bought this appliance and do not recommend it.
- Opening in bottom of bowl
- I would not have bought this item if I realized that you can only put a small amount of liquid in the bowl. The blade sits on a shaft that is open and therefore liquid will leak out if you try to remove the bowl from the processor. This was not the case with my last processor so I never realized I needed to worry about this. I can't believe anyone would design an item like this.
- It took me about 2 days to realize that this particular model was a bad bargain. I wanted a medium sized unit with versatility so I thought that the two sizes of workbowls included with this model would constitute a nice middle ground. Boy was I wrong!
Kitchen Aid really needs to wake up when it comes to meeting the needs of customers who don't need or want large scale appliances. The housing of the KFP740 isn't any smaller than the one used for the 12-cup models so takes up just as much counter or cabinet space. On the other hand, it has only a standard mouth and a thin (2mm) slicing disk. I discovered that I could either could pay less money and get the larger model with a wide mouth cover, more discs, and a storage unit or pay $65 extra to get standard 4mm slicer and the wide mouth cover for this unit.
Even considering the return shipping charge, I decided that a 7-cup competitive unit with both the wider mouth and a medium slicing disk was a better bargain.

- Good ,Quite Machine for Home use.
- Good Machine for home use. The bowl is a bit shallow so food may drip out of center. It chops well with just a few pluses.Doesn't liquidfy everything. I use it everyday. Easy to clean the motor is completely incased in it's housing.

- I love that it has two different size bowls; however, if I mix anything pourable, it leaks out through the middle hole - not much capacity.
