- This 1600-watt four-slice toaster packs a powerful punch in a sleek, compact package. Custom-like features include two sets of controls for two independent heating chambers, extra-wide slots to accommodate larger items, like bagels, defrost functions and a removable, dishwasher-safe warming tray. Each of the two chambers has an 8-setting browning selector. Three-position metal control lever turns right to toast and left to raise bread for one-handed removal. Brushed stainless steel exterior paired with bright-blue LED lights lend contemporary flair. Weighs 9 pounds. One-year warranty from date of purchase. Model FEM4B.

- This is a great toaster. Great with bagels. Lever won't stay down if toaster isn't plugged in which is a good thing if it has to stay out on the counter with kids around.
- Toast the way it should be!
- This is a very fine toaster. It accomodates different kinds of bread and bagels and english muffins. The warmer surface on top is a great bonus. Easy to clean and use. Excellent product.
- Krups Toaster Working Well
- Not sure what all the negative reviews are about. If you follow the directions and experiment with the settings the product will work as designed. No toaster is perfect. If anyone ever finds one or invents the perfect toaster, let me know, because I would like to market that product and get rich. I have found the defrost and bagel settings to be very useful. Received the toaster in minimum shipping time and it has been working great since we took it out of the box. Would definitely buy this brand again.
- Individual controls are great. Easy to keep clean. The design is retro yet contempory. All these nice features and it makes great toast, English muffins and bagels, too! Had previous experience with Krups, so I expected nothing less and definitely got it.
- Krups FEM4B 4-Slice Toaster, Black
This is an amazing and easy to use toaster. I would recommend it in a heartbeat. So far no problems although I have only had it for about a month now. I purchased a Krups toaster oven before this and found it did not toast near as good this toaster. So if you are just needing a toaster and not an oven this is the best bet.
- We have been through a number of toasters, and never been really happy. This one, so far, seems to be the solution, fast, consistent doneness, separate controls for the two sets of slots so we use it as his and hers, so far an excellent buy.
- After years of going through "disposable" toasters, this one is great. We have used it daily for 27 months now - and it is perfect. It toasts evenly, raises the bread up nicely when done, and accomidates thin bread and fat bagels. Well worth the price.
- Great toaster, I love toast!
- We replaced a cheap Oster that was 10yrs old. I never knew how good toast could be. This toaster looks great too. I like the dual controls and you don't have to heat the whole toaster up for just 1-2pcs. The bagel setting works great, no more burned outsides. The crumb trays slide easily out the front, easy to empty every day. All I can say is love this toaster. It cooks evenly, no more shifting the halfdone toast around to get it all toasted.
- Great Toaster with Terrific Features
- I bought this toaster as a gift for my sister who replaced an old two slice that did not brown evenly. She says the new Krups browns both sides perfectly and the warmer on top is a useful feature also.
- We had a rather expensive Cuisinart toaster that never really worked very well and fell apart after about 2 years. I did a lot of research and decided to buy this Krups toaster. I have had it about 2 months and it works great. It is very sturdy, it toasts very evenly and the warmer function is great. I particularly like the 3 level lift for removing small items. Do use the toaster empty a couple of times when it is brand new. I did it outside and I could really smell the plastic-y smell.

- Not much to like about this toaster. It arrived dented. Slots are not long enough to fit a slice of bread unless it is the old fashioned size. Toasts unevenly, comes out with brown stripes. Big and bulky. If all you toast are bagels and english muffins, it is adequate. Definitely not worth the money. Wish I had purchased the Breville.

- Krupped out after 4 months
- I got this toaster as a gift. Several months after using, one of the arms broke. A month later, it started toasting unevenly. Coincidentally, my brother has the same one with the same problems.
I chose to send mine in for warranty repair out of state to the closest center. Bad decision. They had it over four weeks before determining no parts were available for it and they have to send a new one. The new one is due to arrive 7-10 BUSINESS days. So that means we'll be without a toaster for six weeks.
The sad part is Krups gives these repair centers up to 30 days to make repairs and they use every last minute. On the 30th day, that was when the repair center decided it could not be repaired.
I've had $20 toasters from Target last longer than this one. Fortunately, it was a gift but what a waste of money for the gift giver.
- I purchased this toaster in April and it was delivered in May, In June one side of the toaster had sprung. It still gets hot, but the lever on the right side does not work. I will never buy another one.
- Does NOT toast evenly and tends to burn in spots.
Dissapointing for this Brand.
- Good For A While But Wouldn't Buy It Again
- We purchased this toaster in Jan 2006. While it is a handsome device and worked fairly well for about two years (occasional bouts of uneven toasting), one day it stopped working altogether. The toast wouldn't stay down and nothing we could do including a thorough cleaning, changed that.
I think that a toaster for this price should last much longer than 2 years. Won't buy another of these and suggest that Krups stick to their coffee makers.
- Just received this toaster and will be returning it. I never turned it on. It is enormous in depth. Too big for my countertop and I am not short of space. Two stars for good looks.
- Looks good. Like cord storage. But, Krups, the slots for toast are really not large enough for bread that has any width to it at all. They would be perfect for square sandwich bread but most people do not use that for toasting. And, I'm not talking about Rye or Pumpernickel......just a regular type of bread (Earthgrains wheatberry). I have to slowly ease down on the toast lever while squishing the bread into the slots.
For the price, there is inconsistency in browning of the bread. Sometimes it comes out too light (I have it on max setting) and sometimnes it tends to burn.
For the guy who thinks I might have it set on "bagel"......forget it. I know how to operate the machine. Next time, I will go back to my big box store for a $30-40 toaster.

- Toast the way it should be!
- This is a very fine toaster. It accomodates different kinds of bread and bagels and english muffins. The warmer surface on top is a great bonus. Easy to clean and use. Excellent product.
- A fine toaster; a wondrous toaster. Cecil B. DeMillie should make a movie about it. This toaster will change your life.
- Great Anniversary present for my husband. He loves tools and this is quite the kitchen tool!!!
** My old toaster you had to turn the control way up to get brown, this one you turn it a little past the halfway mark.
** Longer bread like Healthy choice, sticks up a little bit, ibut it still gets toasted.
**Love the lifter for english muffins, no more unplugging and doing whatever means to get the toast out!
**Love the top part for heating up buns, etc.
Only complaint ~ Which is for all 4-slice toasters is they are much bigger than they used to be, but this toaster is impressive looking!!
Looking forward to trying the rest of the features! Enjoy....

- The Krups 4-slice toaster looks nice, and we had high hopes for it. But two of the slots only toast one side of the bread, and 3 out of 4 slots don't toast evenly, making stripes on the bread. And if this is a fast toasting item, I guess my expectations are way too high. It takes a long time to toast even at a medium setting. It does toast bagels nicely, though. I guess you have to go really high-price to get a toaster that will toast perfectly.
- We ordered this toaster because it had positive reviews. We didn't NEED a new toaster but the last few we owned never toasted the bread evenly and we had to raise and lower the toast two or three times in order to get some semblance of evenly toasted bread. The reviews said this toaster solved that issue but we found it only partially solves it. We still find ourselves checking the toast, repositioning it, and pushing it down a second time to get evenly toasted bread or English muffins. It is an improvement over those we owned previously but not the total solution we expected.
- It mostly works very well. The only problem is that the left defrost button sticks, but as that feature is not used, we will live with it.
The lift feature is nice and eliminates the use of wooden tongs to get
short pieces out.
- Hope we've finally found "the one"
- Finally a toaster that toasts bread, muffins, bagels evenly. It takes a little longer than previous toasters, but worth the time. Love the way when it's done that you can raise what you are toasting with just a turn of the handle and it stays put. Haven't tried the pastry warmer that's on top yet. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we've finally found "the one" after years of trying toasters!
