After using an old aluminum food mill for years this one just knocked my socks off. Fits easily over a bowl or pot, stainless steel, does not slip, turns smoothly, has different size "screens"...I just love it. I make applesauce with skins, core, seeds and all, just cook halved apples with a little water, put the mash through the mill and the things you don't want are left behind. A definite upgrade, easy to clean.
- Grandkids love fresh applesauce!
- works great - the legs grip any size bowl or pan - you don't need the more expensive type!
- Excellent food mill. This is the one!
- I bought this mill after trying it out alongside the All Clad, and after having read the bad reviews of other high-end mills. Unlike the All-Clad, which has a fixed knob, the knob on the Oxo crank turns independently of the crank, so that you can grip it while turning without losing the skin off the palm of your hand. It's quieter than the All-clad, which makes an annoying scraping sound, and it has those awesome retractable legs that let you rest it over any bowl. With the All-Clad, you have to either use All-clad pots or hold the whole thing in your other arm as you crank away with that horrible knob. So far, I have made amazing mashed potatoes and fresh heirloom tomato Bloody Mary's. The fine mesh seive held back the seeds and skins of the tomato perfectly, which some mills won't do. If you like seeds and skin in your sauces, just use the medium seive. The disks are VERY easy to switch out, just click the latch. Lastly, the Oxo is cheaper. If you want a food mill, this is the one!
- Since it is the only food mill I have used I have nothing to compare it with. I have used it twice to make large batches of tomato sauce from fresh tomatoes and it worked great, was easy to use and was very easy to clean.
- I purchased this mill with the intentions of making baby food. So far it has worked great for banana puree, mango and other soft, ripe fruits. I would recommend the product over the smaller, strictly-for-baby-food mills because of its capacity for making large batches, and for it's higher quality/durability. It is fun and easy to use, and it makes a great tomato puree for a most excellent marinara!
- This is a good basic mill, sturdy and easy to clean. It worked very well for processing and canning apple butters of various types.
- We got this to make seedless blackberry jam. Worked great. It is easy to operate and very easy to clean.
- This product made my summer so much simpler during tomato harvest. After just a few minutes of cooking the tomatoes on the stove, they went into the food mill with peel and seeds. With minimal effort, I had a wonderful, seedless tomato juice. The food mill is easy to use and an easy clean up. I am lookng forward to trying the food mill on other foods.
- Got this to assist with the bumper crop of tomatoes from the garden this year. What a time saver!I've put up 40 pounds of tomatoes so far, and could not imagine processing that many tomatoes into tomato sauce by hand.
I like the way the legs fold out to fit over a bowl or pan. The capacity is good (particulary at this price point). And it is very easy to clean.
I'm looking forward to using this for jam and applesauce as well!
- When a recipe says puree this is the kitchen gadget you need. Smoothness without liquidity. A must have for the well equipped kitchen that lives up to the OXO name.

- The legs on this food mill do not stay in place. It is difficult to use. I would not buy this one.

- I've used this both on apricots and on boysenberries. Works great, doesn't slip, cleans up fairly easily.
- nice food mill for the money
- I think this is a good food mill for the money. I looked at a Foley mill and played with it at the store, but just wasn't impressed by how the parts all fit together. Kind of had a grinding feel as the metal grated together rather than a smooth cranking action that the OXO has. The three different grinding plates are very nice. We bought this to make baby food and for making jams and home canning needs. Fits the bill perfectly. Very comfortable to use and would recommend this without reservation. The only reason it didn't get 5 starts is the white plastic coating on the bowl. If that was stainless like the bowl lining, it would be perfect.

- Easy to use because it can be set directly over a bowl; also cleans very easily. I bought to use for making baby food, but I only used for a few weeks because baby was soon ready for thicker and chunkier food that can simply be pureed in the food processor or blender. Not sure it's worth it to purchase if you only plan to use for baby food.
- Love it. Works awesome. We bought this for creamy mashed potatos and it really does the trick.
- This is certainly not a piece of precision engineering, but it does get the job done. I've found that the crank, when decoupled from the body, will often work itself into such a position as to render itself frozen, and wiggling it loose can sometimes take a moment as you struggle to figure out which way it needs to move to unstick itself. The discs are also a little uneven, making for some unpleasant scraping noises when you pass over the high spots.
Nevertheless, it did make short work of a can of mangosteens, and cleanup was fairly painless. Not sure how long it'll last since that "enameled" exterior is really molded plastic, but we'll see.
