- Easy Clean Feature New Revolutionary Ice Crusher Stainless Steel Blade Powerful 450 watt motor Exclusive All-Metal Drive system 5 Cup Dishwasher safe/ scratch resistent glass jar
-
- I purchased the blender after reading reviews here on Amazon... which are always very helpful. I did purchase it with some doubt.. as hey ya never know :)
But it lived up to the comments.
It chopped ice fabulously.. no chunks what so ever. And the glass pitcher is far better than a plastic one. Easy to clean and very happy with the unit. I use it every day to make protein shakes.
- At last!!! A blender that works well, easy to care for and easy to use. It is not very noisy, does the job and I am delighted! I have had other blenders, and this one is far superior. I love it and thank you to Amazon for making it possible for us to purchase it at a more than affordable price. I would give it ************!
- Powerful Blender for Price
- I just purchased this blender and am thrilled with the quality. It does a great job of making frozen smoothies and leaves no chunks of ice or fruit. I definitely recommend this blender.
- great blender- really handles ice
- I bought this blender based on reviews that said it could whip up ice (as in making a pitcher of Margaritas). Recently I made enough for four people at one time- that's 20 ice cubes in the blender. It never faltered and the result was as uniformly blended as any restaurant or bar. I read a lot of reviews before settling on this model and I'm glad I got it.
- only used a few times so far- I use it mostly for milkshakes, nothing heavy duty, but pleased with it so far
- Great blender. I have had no issues. My old black & decker one had a plastic base to the blade and of the jar that cracked from tightening it and there were no options from that vendor to replace that single component. I had to through away the entire blender - not a very green solution.
This blender has an all metal blade enclosure that is rock solid.
- Oster 6684 12 -Speed blender
- After lengthy comparison shopping, this blender was not only the least expensive, but had the toughness and durability needed to make smoothies with tons of ice. More expensive models had plastic blade components, this one is steel and really does the job nicely. I've owned professional grade blenders that cost a fortune and did not work as well.
- Best blender on the market
- Makes everything for the summer fresh! Quiet strong and makes great yogurt smoothies for summer. Get a good recipe book and sip your way through summer with this - use fresh local ingredients and your own your waySmoothies for Life! Yummy, Fun, and Nutritious!
- I've had the blender for a couple of weeks and it has been great for making milk shakes and smoothies. It's a great money saver! The capacity isn't as large as I thought, but it's fine for about 3-4 servings.
- It's a blender. It blends stuff. Just read the F manual and you won't break it. It blends ice, fruit, and milk smoothly and flawlessly. I get smoothies done in less than 15 seconds. Just make sure to follow the cleaning instructions and stay on top of it, or you'll be sorry.
I like the many options as far as blend speed is concerned. Cool design, too, and the glass (vs. plastic) jug is a huge plus.

- my three month old OSTER 6684 blunder, leaks. Every time I use it, it smells like burning plastic. The bottom plastic, screw on base, is not designed properly. When the base motor spins, it burns the plastic ring. After three months, the ring is worn down enough that the blender now leaks. Since it is over 30 days since I purchased from Amazon, I have contacted Oster, for a replacement. But, So far, not a word from them. Just another company, using their Name and, good reputation, to sell cheap merchandise.
No idea why my updates are disappearing, but I have received a new blender today, what a difference a blender, that is not defective makes. I change my rating to 4 stars ****
- The Osters have a good motor but the one I received had a jar that did not sit comfortably on base. Seems like a design fault as there were 2 tiny blobs of plastic on base in the way!! Returned for refund. The old Osters used to sit tightly on base.
- I have a big problem to make puree for my baby.It does not do the job. Also the botton is made of plastic. It looks cheap.
- I had the same Oster for over 30 years which performed great until recently when it began to smell like plastic burning, so I decided it needed replacing and bought a new Oster because my old one was perfect.
First, I was very disappointed when I opened the box and saw turquoise buttons on the front. I did not notice the color of the buttons when ordering and just assumed they would be chrome like my previous blender. The color clashes with my kitchen decor and what is even worse, the speed labels are difficult to read in the turquoise on black.
Second, my old Oster blender had a button you chose for speed and then an on/off switch that I liked better than pushing the speed button and it starts immediately and then needing to push another button to turn it off.
Third, the jar does not sit firmly in the bowl and feels wobbly even when it should be locked into place. I read of only one other person who had this problem on the reviews. So, I assume I also received a faulty plastic screw on bottom as my old jar does fit in the blender base.
Third, I like the glass jar which my old Oster also had, but I do not like the wide shape with a curvy top. It makes pouring more difficult and the curvy top makes the lid hard to get on and off quickly. The lid is also a less rigid plastic which makes it harder to manage as well.
Fourth, It is much louder and strange sounding than my old Oster, and since the jar is not seated securely, I fear it will fly off the base.
Fifth, The base is taller and wider than my old Oster and I find it hard to pick up and move around on the counter.
It does seem to blend my smoothie okay, but I would return it except I don't want to pay for shipping it back. As someone said Walmart has the same blender for $29,95.
- Plastic lid plug got blended!
- The little plastic "plug" in the lid fell through into the blender as I was using it to make my smoothie... and got ground up. If it happened to me, I'm sure others have experienced the same. Cheap design in my opinion.

- It's got plenty of power, allowing me to make delicious, refreshing, and healthy smoothies. It crushes ice and frozen strawberries easily and quickly. I got it for $35 from Amazon, so the quality/price ratio is very good.
That said, there are some drawbacks. The main one is that the lid is a bit leaky, so occasionally water or juice will squirt out. It's also very loud. And the cord is shorter than I would like it to be (about 2').
- During the past few years, I have really grown to like banana milkshakes and was very disappointed when our old blender bit the dust. After spending a lot of time reading reviews on blenders, I was ready to buy a Waring blender for just under $[...]. The reviews were quite good, and they seem to last a long time. However, after spending a bit more time, I stumbled on this Osterizer for under $[...]. The ratings were all excellent, so I figured I could buy 2 or 3 if needed. It arrived quickly, and except for one issue, has been superb. I really like having 12 speeds - it turns out that the 2nd lowest works great for the banana milkshake (2 bananas and a bit of milk). At that speed it is much quieter than our prior blender. It has also worked well for my wife and daughter in making fresh fruit smoothies (really good). It sets up a great vortex. I didn't give it 5 stars because it has started making an odd noise at a higher speed. I am waiting to see if that ultimately leads to a problem or if I can just avoid that speed. Given that it is used every day and has been for 3 months, I am not too worried.
- Not a bad product; definitely a great deal for the $. It liquefies as I expected. Great for smoothies, margaritas, and other icy drinks; haven't used it for other purposes yet. Loud, but it is a blender afterall!
- I used a Hamilton Beach for years, and when it finally gave out, I picked up this Oster. It's a little bit more powerful, and it works well. One tip: this blender needs to be at least a third full before you start blending, or it will vibrate. I'm used to adding items a bit at a time, but this blender works better if you load it up first. Fortunately, it blends well.
- pretty good for the price
- Overall, the blender is ok. If you aren't a heavy blender user but want one for the occasion when you feel like making a shake or sauce or something, then this blender meets that need.
The Pros:
It has a small footprint, so it won't be taking up too much counterspace.
It has a real glass jar, not plastic.
It does an adequate job blending most things, however you may have to stop and push the ice cream down a few times if making a milkshake
It's medium capacity is perfect for blending 2 good sized milkshakes without accidently making too much or having to make 2 different batches.
The Cons:
The jar doesn't sit exactly level, and if it's off kilt even a bit, it starts shredding the black plastic ring that holds everything on.
Doesn't really make thick milkshakes like we all dream of making. They are ok, but not the uber thick ones. If you try to make the uber thick ones, you are rewarded with the smell of burnt motor.
All in all, it's an ok product, and if you are a casual user of such an appliance, you'll find this one will meet your needs. If you planned on daily use, I'd reccomend something a bit stronger and better made, as the jar sitting and plastic ring could become an issue over time.
- NOT PERFECT FOR MAKING FROZEN DRINKS
- I've been making frozen drinks (margaritas and pina coladas) quite often, so I purchased this blender hoping it would do a better job crushing the ice into the perfect slush. It doesn't do a much better job than a regular blender if you are looking for a blender to quickly crush all the ice. It starts well, then the blade turns freely and the ice stays at the top. There are some uncrushed pieces of ice with the slush, so I stop it, shake it around and start it again, and I do that several times in order to achieve the perfect result. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BLENDER FOR MAKING FROZEN DRINKS.
- I just received this blender yesterday, and just want to confirm that regular Kerr Brand Mason Jars work with this blender! Most of the people that wrote reviews mentioning this fact wrote them under the mini jar accessory for this blender.
So, if you are a regular smoothie maker like myself and hate dirtying up the 5 cup jar for just one smoothie, get yourself an Oster blender and some Mason Jars! That way, you can make a single drink in the same jar you drink from!
Be sure to buy the regular mouth Mason Jars... NOT the wide mouth. I bought a case of 12 Mason Jars for $11 but they can be found for a little less.
I'll update this review as I use the blender. For now, I justed to confirm reports that Mason Jars do in fact work with this blender.
- Love it. Make smoothie everyday. This thing crashes ice into smoothie so well, it's amazing. It's like drinking an actual smoothie from Jamba Juice store!!!!
- After having looked everywhere for a decent affordable blender, I thought maybe I had finally hit pay dirt with this machine. Alas, I was wrong again, it seems that the good old work horse blender of the old days is a thing of the past. This item is not all that bad, except that it is very loud, especially on "High", and it vibrates like a V-8 running on 5 cylinders - you must hold it so it doesn't scoot off the counter( when on "High" ). The lid is quite flimsy and doesn't prevent liquids from oozing out ( hold on baby! ). I guess this is what we must accept as the "norm" in the 21st century, what with Chinese motors and Mexican assembly plants. Not that it is their fault, because, after all, who is engineering the specs?? I would have expected a whole lot more from "Osterizer"
