- The toaster oven I purchased is great...
- The toaster oven is a great size, nice looking and works great. I am happy with my purchase and would buy another!!!
- Best toaster out there for the money!
- After moving into my new apartment I needed a new toaster, and decided to go with a toaster oven. I looked in over 20 stores, and shopped several online sites and ended up with this toaster on Amazon. I initially bought the toaster based on the price and the color(my girlfriend insisted on a black toaster to match our kitchen). When it came I was surprised at the size of it, being able to toast 3 bagels at a time or even cooking a personal pizza inside. I don't really know what more I could have gotten out of other toasters had I spent more money.
- Terrific toaster oven for the money
- I am so glad to have found this black toaster oven and got it so quickly through Amazon.com. I had been waiting for almost a month after ordering it from another online store. Finally, I ordered this from Amazon and am so happy to have it. Got here in 2 days. Looks beautiful. Easy to use. Ticking sound alerts you to having something in the oven and the timer bell tells you when it is done.Thank you Amazon and Procter -Silex for this hard to find in black toaster oven. It matches my other kitchen appliances nicely. Glad I got this after reading the postive reviews of the item on Amazon.
- The whole family has enjoyed this product. It was shipped and received in quick order without any damage or defects. It is a delight to cook without using a microwave.
- Can't Beat it for the Price
- For the money this is an awesome toaster oven. If you just put in the food and leave it it will not cook evenly, but if you flip and/or rotate it once in a while it comes out just fine, especially if you use a low heat setting for a longer time. The bake and broil options work great for heating up frozen food and one of my roommates has actually cooked chicken breast with the broil setting. I highly recommend wrapping the bottom tray in foil to speed clean up. In short, with some patience this thing is perfect for anyone with limited space and a limited budget.
- I'm happy with it. For the money, it can't be beat. I liked that it
comes from a trusted manufacturer. Meets our needs well.
- proctor silex toaster oven
- This item was purchased as a gift for our daughter. So far it has performed very well and she has no complaints
- One of the cheapest, but does what it should
- Bought one for the office kitchen, and it's a hit. But it's not made particularly well; I don't expect to get years of daily service out of it. At this price, though, you can just toss it out if it breaks or gets too dirty, and buy another. For home use, I got myself a Cuisinart: much better construction, but four times the cost of this unit.
- Great product for the price
- For the price this toaster oven can't be beat. Hasn't disappointed me yet. Some reviewers complained that toast isn't even, but I don't seem to have that problem with mine. When you set the switch to the middle toast mark, the toast comes out perfect, not too light not too dark. The only issue that I have had is that the inside height is a little short because of the heating element. When I have cooked chicken breasts on the bone, I have to put them on the tray breast side down because the other way, if they are large they tend to hit the heating element. They still come out perfectly baked though done upside down. I definitely recommend this product.
- We have a small lunchroom and it's a busy place come lunchtime/breaks. Coffee/hot chocolate and reheating leftovers are primary around here. One guy makes a full breakfast of hash browns and eggs!! Microwave works well and we bought two of them that get a good work out. Satisfied with the product. Thank you

- I'll never go "cheap" again...
- I bought this item on one of the promotions before the holidays. The toaster ovens featured ranged from this price ($35) to the $80 - $200(!) range. I thought, "I'll never pay that much for a simple toaster oven" but in retrospect maybe I should have.
While nice and spacious, this unit is rather clumsy, and not really well designed compared to others we've owned.
- most others I've seen are designed such that opening the door pulls the tray out a bit so you can access the food easier - not here. That's a burn hazard or you have to pull the tray out manually with something.
- the controls aren't extremely intuitive, as, for instance, the timer clicks even when there's no heat turned on. I liked that the unit boasted a timer but it's a mechanical one and therefore you constantly hear this loud 'click' during the entire time. Making toast shouldn't make me anxious...
- the flat crumb tray seems like a good idea at first (as opposed to the "trap door" approach of other models), but the tray doesn't catch all the crumbs since it isn't snug to the sides (or even close), so there's still a need to clean out the bottom of the unit somehow (and since there's no trap door, it's not as easy as other units).
- and possibly the worst part - it takes way too long and doesn't ever really seem to toast well.
I feel like it's wasted money as we'll eventually buy something else. I guess I underestimated how expensive it must be to produce a decent toaster oven.
- I returned this product after using it for a weeK. It does the jobs we bought it for poorly or not at all.
- New review. It quit on me after 13 months
- I had a review in here praising this product for quite a while under Rob of Austin. The product did work great for as long as it worked. However after 13 months of heavy usage the bottom burner went out. I can no longer recommend this item.
- Don't buy this toaster- it's a fire hazard, I had to return it. Everything gets really hot, and you can't open the door or get your toast without scalding some part of your hand. Plus, it burns everything.
- i havent the vaguest idea why my wife pressed BUY on this hideous 1970's looking piece of junk, but in doing so she rewarded me for my $40 by screaming "FIRE!!!!" 1 minute after plugging it in. It started burning up with smoke coming out of the right side. I highly recommend you buy this item if you are unhappy with your life circumstances and seek to retire from your time on this Earth.
- Awful, don't waste your money
- This is a completely dysfunctional item. First I get it and when I turn it on, there is an awful burning plastic smell from the interior that I can't get at. Seems like some of the wires are wrapped together with some kind of plastic which hello, melts when you turn it on! So at best, this thing is a huge fire hazard. Then in trying to bake a few small items, which I did just fine in my previous basic toaster oven, it burns them to a crisp. Despite having a oven like "temperature" control, all this device does is turn completely on to high heat, when it reaches the right temperature, turns off, and then when the temp falls again, turns back on. This method might work in a large, proper oven, but it is completely useless in a toaster oven. Unfortunately I tossed the box, and it would cost too much to ship back, otherwise I'd return it in an instant.

- OK while waiting for the perfect toaster oven
- Overall, like most toaster ovens I have purchased over the years, this one cooks a little uneven -- this one cooks too much on the top and too little on the bottom -- except when it goes the other way around.
Good for warming up cold pizza, etc. Dries toast out a little. A good choice if want an alternative to a standard Black and Decker, and do not think that a basic toaster oven should cost over $50.
(+ very eco-friendly when comparing it with using a full oven to warm something up.)
- Good oven, reasonable price
- When my old toaster oven stopped working, I started looking for a new one. I was debating between getting a very expensive toaster oven or a "cheap" one. The expensive one was over $150 and got good reviews. My original toaster oven (before my last one broke) lasted me close to ten years, and was a "cheapie." I almost got the expensive one, but I decided to give this one a try first, and if it didn't work out, go for the expensive one next time.
So far, based on one month's use, I would say this oven has been giving me very good service. The heating element starts up fast, unlike my old one (not the one that lasted several years). It does what it's supposed to. I have had very good results re-heating pizza (makes the cheese nice and stringy) and fried chicken. It also works very well for pot pies and croissants (used almost every day). Overall, so far, it "just works."
Some people may say the oven gets hot. I have had three ovens (including this one), and they all got hot. I don't see how it wouldn't (really haven't tried the fancy expensive ones, so can't compare to those). I expect heat from these devices, so for me, it's not an issue. Just don't touch it when it's hot.
Again, an very practical, usable, and workable oven! It may not be fancy, but it's very utilitarian and costs are very reasonable. That's two of three things I need in an oven. The third is that it last for a while. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hope it lasts.
Based on my experience so far, I would recommend this oven quite highly and would say it's a good choice. I like this oven.

- I haven't had the toaster long, but it is working great. Didn't think the 'toaster' part would work - but it did just fine. My only complaint is the timer is loud and annoying to listen too while it counts down. Good value.
- My college daughter's toaster oven finally died and needed replacing. I bought her this one as a gift and she is loving it. She didn't realize how slow to cook/heat/toast her old on was until she got this one. She said that it is double the speed and she loves it.
- I like this product. It is a little slow and uneven as far as toasting is concerned. I do not find his too objectional and familiarization will probably take care of it. This is the major use for me.

- This toaster is okay. The first time I used it, it smelled like burning plastic; this went away after a few toast cycles and now it is fine. The toasting timer makes a loud clicking noise while it runs and ends with a loud bing. It also does not cook evenly---my taquitos come out with the ends burnt to a crisp and the middles not crispy at all.
The crumb tray is nice. I like being able to pull it out and just dump all the crumbs in the sink when it builds up. The toast setting is not great in that it seems to either cook my toast too little (no color at all) or too much (deep brown all over); I have a hard time finding a setting in between that.

- Only 6 month Warrantee - BEWARE
- This is a good product; but Amazon's website is wrong and the warrantee is only 180 days... not 2 years.
Also of note: this only has 2 heat elements, 1 on the top and 1 on the bottom in the center. This works reasonably well, but it doesn't work as well as my old Black and Decker which had 4. Less even browning.
