- I love this iron. Most steam I've ever had from an iron. My friends love it, and have ordered theirs. "Pointy" nose really great in tight places. I actually like this new iron better than my old Rowenta. I would have still been using my old iron, but I dropped it. My husband said it was unfixable!!
- I love this iron. Initially I was concerned because it was heavier than my previous iron. However, ironing is faster and easier. I like the pointed end, it makes certain areas easier to iron. I would definitely recommend this model.
- Most wonderful iron I've ever owned!!!
- This is a great iron for blocking my knitted items. The amount of steam it produces eliminates the need to touch with the iron whatever I am blocking. It's remarkable for pressing while quilting or dressmaking. It has a recessed area that allows you to press around buttons. It is phenomenal for pressing linen items. I never iron my bedding but this iron made it a snap. My lace edged sheets and pillow cases are gorgeous. Best of all, my youngest daughter loves to iron with this Rowenta. That makes it worth it's weight in gold.
- Makes me want to do the ironing
- I bought this as a replacement for my old Rowenta and this one is a lot better. I actually look forward to ironing. Its light and fits into the tight spots easily. It comes with a plastic measuring cup to fill the iron with water and it then there's a little door that shuts to keep the water inside. I've only used it on the highest temp so far and it really gets the wrinkles out fast. I recommend this item.
- This is by far the best iron I have ever owned or used. It comes up to temperature quickly. The flow of steam is steady and generous at all steam temperature settings. There is no leakage or sputtering whatsoever at lower settings. I had not considered Rowenta irons before because of their weight, but this one weighs only a little more than the average Sunbeam. Ergonomically, it is well balanced and fits well in the hand.
- I wish I had broken down and bought this iron years ago. Yes, it uses a lot of water, but it has a lot of steam and does things in half the time.
- Rowenta Focus 1700 watt iron
- This is the best iron I've ever had, bar none. I waited several months to write this review because I don't iron a lot, and I wanted to be very familiar with using it before I wrote a review on it.
The main use of an iron, for me, is for sewing and ironing curtains after I have washed them. It is very irritating to use an average iron for those tasks, because it does not get hot enough and the iron and the steam don't usually get the hard wrinkles out even with multiple passes of the iron.
THIS iron DOES get those wrinkles out! Even the worst ones give it up to a little shot of steam or a spray from the water spray feature.
It was expensive but so worth it! Give up a couple of weeks of Starbucks drinks if you have to, this will make ironing SO much more pleasant!
I haven't tried to steam hanging fabrics with the shot of steam yet, but hope that will be as impressive as the rest.
- Just bought it and impressed..
- I just bought this one after filtering out many Rowenta & BD irons. Nice one and the narrow tip helps to reach small areas.
- I am sharing this review from my wife's perspective as I don't do the ironing. She is very pleased with her new Rowenta Focus iron. It maintains its temperature well and is quick to return to the indicated temperature. The steam feature is strong, allowing wrinkles to disappear with little effort. This new iron has cut her ironing time almost in half.
- My mother turned me on to Rowenta Irons, and I am glad she did! I had an older model a couple years back when I was in the Marines, so neededless to say it got plenty of use! When it passed the point of no return with all the starch used I had to get another one.
So I chose the Focus. And I'm glad I did. This iron is quick to heat, easy to use and packs a bunch of steam. The only thing that I could see people having a problem with is it's on the heavier side and that it tends to leak a little after excessive use. But for the price you can't go wrong. No other brand but Rowenta is the way to go, period.

- I have only had this iron for 2.5 months and it is leaking like a sieve. I will return it for another model if BB&B will take it back. I have the receipt but not the box so we will see.
- Great iron when it worked
- I loved this iron up until the day it started leaking and would shut off automatically. I'm not an iron expert but for the price I expected better.
- WAS great, then the LEAKING began!
- My husband and I loved this iron- the design, the numerous steam holes, the way it glided over fabrics- and then, the LEAKING began. Profuse leaking. It started after approximately one year- we would find huge puddles of water under the iron on our counter where we left it over night. It would spill puddles on to clothing after a few minutes of use. Please, understand: we did NOT overfill it with water, and we did NOT put in distilled water, either. We followed all instructions exactly, including cleaning the iron out to be sure there was no blockage- the iron just started malfunctioning. Thankfully, we purchased it from Bed Bath and Beyond- they ALWAYS accept returns on defective merchandise with your receipt (I kept ours!). I would probably NOT buy this particular brand again.
- I have the same problem with the Rowenta auto-shutoff as several other reviewers on amazon and elsewhere. Bought a Rowenta iron in Aug'07. The autoshutoff started kicking in even when the iron was in use. Suddenly during use, iron shuts off and red light begins to blink. Only way to restart - switch on and off OR bang it down hard sideways on the ironing board ("gentle sideways shaking" recommended by the manual doesn't cut it). Then 15-20 seconds later - same problem.
Returned and got a replacement in Sept'07. Autoshutoff broke again again in May'08.
Out of 90 days return/replace policy - so seller won't return OR replace. Only option to send to Rowenta service center prepaid and wait for 2-3 weeks for it to come back.
Better toss and buy a different brand. WITH extended warranty this time. Oh well... No more Rowenta EVER.
