- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 builds on the events of the first hit game, for an all-new tactical combat experience. In the year 2014, rising conflict between Mexican loyalists and insurgent forces throws Mexico into full-scale civil war. Under the command of Captain Scott Mitchell, the Ghosts are called upon to face an imminent threat to the United States. The fate of two countries now lies in the hands of the Ghosts as they fend off an attack on U.S. soil. Equipped with the most cutting-edge weaponry and technology, the Ghosts must battle on both sides of the border. New battlegrounds

- I loved this game, but it's too short for the money. As a combat vetran, it rang very true to me. Buy this game for the fun, and reality
- The game is action packed with lots of additional maps to download. The action never stops. Great game for playing with friends and family alike.
- After playing the first Ghost Recon I was hooked, but I needed more. This second version has surpassed all of my needs. It has all the great things from the first game plus a few extra bonuses that just make this game the ultimate experience. In campaign mode you have even more control over your team and your supports, such as the UAV and tanks. Multiplayer is a lot of fun too. I have been playing this game for a long time and I have yet to get sick of multiplayer. I would definately buy this game again.
- Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 This is the link check it out! My husband loves this game! He had even has me hooked! Make sure that you have XBOX Live to maximize your game experience.
- 360 vs. PS3 variant; A comparison
- For Ghost recon advanced warfighter 2, or GRAW 2 as i'll call it here, the 360 variant was better. Now maybe you might not have the choice of the two but just in case, here it is.
I gave a 5 star review for it on the PS3 version. That was somewhat unfair to the 360 version as I have just recently bought a 360 and GRAW 2. The PS3 variant has one more multiplayer map I can think of then the 360 version does, but the 360 version has so much more. If i were a newcomer to Blu-ray vs dual DVD-rom on the 360, I'd have said the 360 version was Blu-ray simply because; 1, better resolution, the PS3's can only go to 720p, whereas the 360's is 1080i, or even 1080p. 2. Some People say that this doesn't have co-op campaign? Well they are half right. While you can't play the co-op campaign you CAN play at home, offline co-op campaing missions, about 6 of 'em. You have objectives to accomplish, allies to fight with, etc.. It's not as in-depth as the single player one, with only a mild pep talk from the brass and a list of objectives, but it still has value. I did not notice this on the PS3 one. 3. You can ALSO, customize your missions, at least to an extent. You can decide if you want to respawn 3, or even half a dozen times for those of you who are new at this. And When you do Co-op elimination, i.e, shoot a mass of A.I. controlled bad guys on a map, you can control if you want a low number, medium number, or high number (I prefer high for massive battles). Then there is the helicopter hunt where the helicopter's fly around you and you shoot them down with whatever until they get ticked at you enough to rocket you into the ground and then you have to really pay attention to what you are doing. There is the Ability to control areas of the battlefield against waves of opponets. Essentially, think modern day, scaled down carbine of Halo when it comes to multiplayer. Again, maybe it's on there but I didn't notice all this on the PS3 version.
4. Online play, and Achivements. Now why exactly am i going to work my thumbs and fingers exhausted for a pat on the back with the ps3? You get achivement points for accomplishing many different feats on this game, and for completing it on harder difficulties. Now I don't have online where I live, not even DSL, but It still owns most other games for offline multiplayer. Only STW battlefront series, and Maybe MOH and Halo can compete with what I've seen here. Again, just preference, but It's still great.
5. Price. You can get a 39.99 game for the 360, or 59.99 for the PS3. (and for me who got up at 3 on the 23rd of nov. friday and went to best buy and got it for $19 new!). So you get more for your dollar with the 360 if you have the choice.
So if you're hoping for a FPS with great multiplayer and are a tad dissapointed with the call of duty offline multiplayer like me, then GRAW is the way to go!
- loved it more than the first
- This game is awesome...my only complaint about this game and most games for the Xbox 360 is that the single player campaign is somewhat short. The game plays well and the controls are very intuitive. I put the game away for almost six months and when I picked it up again it was like I had never stopped.
Hopefully they'll keep making games like this...I'll be looking forward to the next one.
- Great game, played GRAW and now this, very good game. New weapons, commands and multiple features.
- A Truly Cool and Amazing Game
- Wow! I've been wanting to contact the developers at UBIsoft to tell them they really out did themselves with GRAW2 but getting them an email through the UBI site is no small feat. Anyway, these guys/gals went way above and beyond the call of duty (pun unavoidable) with this game. Except for the wanting of a couple more ways to sneak around battle zones or be able to move through a few more buildings, etc. this game is IT! The updated cross com is great, especially the ability to change the view from man to man and support vehicles.
My only real complaint is that, once spotted or fired upon, the bad guys seem to always know exactly where you are - you can't slip out of one vantage point to another without them knowing exactly where you are even when your completely hidden from view. Similarly, if you toss a grenade from a hidden position they begin firing on your position before the grendade even explodes. How's that happen?
Not to worry; the Ghost Recon series is awesome and GRAW2 is the best of the best. If you like combat sqaud games there is nothing comparable to Ghost Recon.
- First before I say anything this game is not for everyone. It is a TACTICAL shooter and it is more squad based combat. Although this game is great RENT IT first and see if you like it. I picked this game up and was impressed. It was the first tactical shooter i have ever played and was greatly impressed. The level of squad control is amazing. If you go in rambo you will die very quickly. The controls are pretty is to learn but the support is fun. If you have a mission with a tank and use the cross com and go over the tank you can aim at an enemy and hit up on the d pad and the tank will take it out. You can do this with any support that can shoot. A lot of missions you will have a tank and sometimes air support. This game also has a lot of weapons and is really fun. It is worth taking a look at.
- A Solid Game, Plenty of Realistic Fun!
- GRAW2 Greatly improves on the original Ghost Recon in a couple of key ways, but stil has problems that are left unfixed.
PROS:
Awesome next-gen graphics
Sound, realism and controls are all very good
CONS:
Multiplayer is not the same quality as storymode, lacks in graphics, and controls, but still is enjoyable
The HUD can become crowded at times, and it can be difficult to keep track of all the units you are commading at once, not reccomeneded for little gamers

- The game is alright, and came in a timely manner. However, we ordered GRAW2 and instead, surprise, GRAW1 came in the mail. Dissapointing.
- Heard this was a short game, so I rented it from Blockbuster for 7 bucks, finished it in about 4 nights (Probably 9 hours). Games are becoming increasingly short and/or unchallenging nowadays... That said, the game is a lot of fun, but not for sale at 60 bucks!

- A little better than the first
- There is nothing bad I can say about this game except that it just wasn't that fun. The game feels kinda slow because it tries to portray real life combat--wherein lies the problem. Video games shouldn't try to hard to portray real life, otherwise you'd be held scoreless in football games and crash once in racing games. This is a tactical shooter where you can methodically place your teammates at flanking points and get the jump on the enemy, and you can see out of their perspective--that's about the coolest thing about this game.
- OK, Dear all, the disc was good, I played all all campaign. But, I do like the first one more.
- My best kill on Ghost Recon ?
Having hostiles taken out by a group I set up to "watch our backs."
Fans of the series will be glad to hear that this iteration is far closer to the original game than the disappointing Xbox sequels. Gamers who love the run & gun, grenade stick action of Halo and Gears will probably find it dry and overly intricate. The satisfaction is far more intellectual than visceral.
As a Ghost, you'll often be taking out targets from such a distance, it would be difficult to tell if you were even landing shots were it not for the HUD's information. The developer has gone in the opposite direction of the aforementioned competition by providing fewer, though far deadlier enemies than before. The grab cover mechanic (very similar to R.S.- Vegas) is essential in nearly every encounter, and the painfully slow moving reticle means that you've got to carefully and purposefully set up positioning. One car, one building corner, one street at a time. Thankfully, squad AI is probably the sharpest seen in any game so far. Your squad mates smartly set themselves up where ordered and return fire in a meaningful fashion; it's even possible to direct your sniper to neutralize particular enemies from afar.
But the Ghosts aren't completely on their own. As Mitchell, the player is often granted control/direction of various support entities. While frustration can ensue toggling between the single command interface (The old "One Button to Rule Them All" problem), support is generally useful, and not even a necessity in most mission legs. Advancing on the battlefield is almost completely at the player's discretion. (And I found it fun and practical to spot enemies in advance using the small U.F.O. - like UAV.) Some good old fashioned helicopter rail shooting rounds out the mixed bag of tech-heavy combat sequences.
The verdict ?
Depends on who you are.
First Person Shooter junkies might find the clips too small, responsibilities too many and the emphasis on defense constraining. There's no reward for being quicker on the draw, and steep penalties for moving too fast. On the other hand, if you're looking for tactical emphasis and a more realistic take on military simulation, this game trumps C.O.D. 4 in that department. It's a different kind of fun - not for everyone, but subtly enjoyable in its own ways. As another reviewer recommended: Buy at a lowered price and enjoy.
- This is a relativelty good game, however, there is no real difference in this and the original. The graphics are better and some of the first's downfalls were addressed, it just isn't enough for this one in my opinion. It fail short of my expectations, which were relatively high and was ok at best. Also, very short, maybe 4-6 hours.
- The weapons are great in this game. I liked it better than the first version because local multiplayer is more fun.I like that most of the weapons you use are not invented yet such as the rx4storm. or the zuesT2 you can also choose lots of different people with different skills for your squad. Like the first version you can take cover thank goodness!!!!! I would have died a lot if not for that. The first actual mission is fun if not short they take only twenty minutes. I detest the tutorial I mean why do you think it comes with an instruct ion manual!!!! Otherwise it is barrels of fun.
- Good game, but expansion maps are a must!
- OK so the missions are kinda short on the game, there are only sixish and they don't take a real long time. However, if you buy the expansion maps you get about 6 more per pack, they are old GR missions from back in the day (the original GR) but the game play is very different, and more challenging. So all in all the game is good but with the old maps it is awesome!
