- What else is there to say?
It's a 6 bit panel but it's fine for 95% of the people who just use it for gaming, web browsing and looking at they pictures they've taken. They won't notice the difference and if they do they wouldn't care.
I moved up (or down as the monitor snobs would say) from a 20" vx2025wm which uses an 8 bit panel but for what I do it's not a major difference. Yeah the viewing angle is bad as is the bleed but 8 bit panels also suffer from bleed.
It looks better, it's bigger, colors are bright and well it's bigger. :)
As another poster mentioned most (95%) of 22" monitors use the CPO (TN) panel so if you want a Samsung be ready to pay for the name.
Over - Great monitor for the price. You can NOT compare this to 8 bit panels costing 3x the price. Only monitor snobs or people who do graphics work would actually gain from 8 bit. No big loss for the rest of us. We actually GAIN because of the prices. Who would have thought 22" panels would fall down to the $200 range.
- The monitor was a great deal. No dead pixils, easy hook up, no hassel installation.
- Strengths:
Nice to look at... easy menu.. huge 22" widescreen... no dead pixels out of the box... built in speakers... lightweight
Contrary to what others have wrote.... I don't think the speakers are that bad...
They sound like laptop speakers... but you MUST increase the monitor volume control upto 100% in order for them to work well... my computer volume is at 35%... they aren't replacements for any powered computer speakers, but they do the trick...
I bought this from Amazon for $211 and it is worth every penny... most other 22" monitors use the same lcd... If you compare the specs of other 22" lcds, they are very similar...
Though this brand isn't well known, I feel that it is well worth spending the money on this monitor... It is worth more than I paid...
I would have paid up to $400 for this quality...
I highly recommend this product :)
- Does what it's suppose to...for cheap...
- i'm giving it a 5 to balance out the overall rating of the product...some users have reported problems when those have nothing to do with the monitor itself..
considering i snagged this 22" lcd for $199 + tax at staples...it's a bargain..
it has high def resolution of 1080p and design is pretty slick with slim bezel..
speaker is nothing to brag..but who buys this for speaker? if anything i don't want extra chunky speaker attached to a LCD MONITOR..
it has both DVI and VGA...cheap models often come with only VGA input...this has both and DVI aids in visual improvement over VGA..
the fault i found on this LCD though..is that it has POOR viewing angle..from side to side..it is more than ok..but from top to bottom it is horrible..for example..if you move window from top to bottom in windows xp...that blue strip you see on IE6 will change color due to this..(from lighter blue to darker blue..tho not too noticeable when you are casual but it's there)
not too much of an issue at this price range though..but obviously if you do some kind of color critical mission or just overly sensitive to color uniformity..stay AWAY despite its price tag..i recommend Samsung,LG, or Dell for those color conscious users..
other than that issue..it does what it's suppose to do.. so if you can get over the fault..get it now..
- I got this monitor for a steal through a deal website. It does its job well and has a picture crisp enough for me to watch movies and use office software with. One thing I do not like about this is the lack of mobility. It can be positioned up and down, but moving it around is not very easy. It seems to have a very stiff feel and I have not moved it at all since I first purchased. When I first bought this monitor, my vid card was not able to support the resolution this monitor needed. You should make sure you have the one that can support this or you will get a horrible picture. The speakers on this monitor are barely audible but I have no problem with that since I am running a 2.1 system with my PC. Don't expect to hear quality sound with these built-in's.
Besides that, this monitor works very well. I've been running it for a few months now and there have been no performance changes. I play games and movies on it from time to time and it still looks great!
- I have been using this monitor for about three weeks and it is a great deal! The silver finish makes it look like a more expensive model. Sharpness, Color and ease of set up are all exceptional. My only complaint is that the Contrast is a little dark even after calibration. I would recommend this for anyone who wants a basic home monitor that is stylish and light weight. if you are a design professional I would probably recommend another brand with better contrast controls.
- I've been using one of these for about 6 weeks, and I must say that I'm very impressed. The picture quality is great and I was able to find a good deal on it. I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking to get a large LCD monitor but not wanting to spend a lot of money on a really nice one.
Be warned, it doesn't come with cables (other than the power cord and headphone -> headphone cable), so you'll need to find your own VGA or DVI cable. I was under the impression that the frame was metal and was slightly disappointed to find out it was plastic, but in all reality it's not that big a deal.
Overall, it's a superb monitor.
- I've been looking at 22" flat screen monitors for a couple of months. The price was right on this one and I'm very pleased with the clarity of the image. Of course Amazon delivered in just a few days and the shipping charges were very reasonable.
- I purchased this monitor because of the price for the size. Some reviews said the built-in speakers were weak. That's true if you only adjust with your desktop sound button. However, if you go online to the products and download the user manual, you will see how to adjust the sound. It's auto set for 50%. I changed mine to 100% and scared myself! You use the buttons on the monitor to do - very simple.
So, if you want a big monitor with pretty good graphics, and good sound, then this is your monitor. No, I don't work for them, I just hate to see bad reviews when it appears to be the user's error.
The company should have made it easier to tell you how to adjust the settings though.
- Strengths:
Inexpensive. Great contrast ratio. Good brightness. VGA & DVI Connections. 5 ms pixel response time. 3 yr warranty.
Weaknesses:
No height adjustment. Non-powered speakers (barely audible). No DVI cable. Have to go into the OSD menu to switch between inputs.
Summary:
I was able to get this for about $213 from Staples.com. I only dinged it a little for the weaknesses since I am not utilizing any of those features. I turned the brightness down & the contrast up. So having a lower brightness than a lot of the more expensive ones didn't really matter for me. I watched a movie & played a game on it with no ghosting.
My next purchase is a tuner card, so I can remove the 25" TV from my room. Not only did I free up some desk space, but I will free up a corner of my room. Size does matter.

- I thought the price of the product was reasonable but the quality was not. The integrated speakers were very quite even though I increased the factory set volume from 50% to 100%. I could hardly hear anything.
The other problem was with the text. I had a very difficult time reading the text on the screen. It was not even close to being sharp. The proper resolution adjustments were made but to no avail.
- Everybody Says you get what you pay for and this is no exception. I purchased this item to get the big 20" TV out of the bedroom that I had hooked up to my MCE 2005. It is def an improvement in the amount of space that it takes up. However the screen doesn't seem to support widescreen resolutions when viewing TV. If I set it to a widescreen res it would fliker and then just go blank. It works fine on the normal 4:3 ratio res which I currently have it setup for 1024 x 768 and I no this is on the low side but I am not using this monitor for anything other than watching tv. Once again I would just like to reiterate that I was disappointed that this monitor would not work in its widescreen resolutions in Windows Media Center.
- I purchased this monitor in August 2007. It was great out of the box. No dead pixels, awesome color, and I was very pleased. I never used the speakers so I don't have an opinion of them.
After having the monitor for 7 months is images on the screen began to have a ghost duplicate to the right, causing everything to look blurry, and unfocused. I contacted customer service who suggested that I needed to update my computer. Instead I tried the monitor with 3 other laptops, all with the same problem. Because of headaches, I'm unable to use it at all and have had no success getting it replaced. I will need to purchase a new monitor, as this one is one is impossible to look at for very long.
