- Waring Pro introduces a powerful, large-capacity ice crusher that is remarkably easy to use. The Waring Pro Professional Ice Crusher features a wide-mouth feed tube, operates with a single on/off toggle switch and has a large, clear plastic container with handle that makes it easy to access up to 12 cups of crushed ice. The heavy-duty motor and a commercial-based mechanism crush up to 50 pounds of ice per hour. Weight - 8 pounds

- The best thing since crushed ice. :)
- I use my Waring Pro ice crusher at least once and sometimes several times a day, and I can honestly say it's one of the most useful purchases I've ever made. It's definitely made for heavy duty use. Larger ice cubes do sometimes get stuck in the opening, but there's an easy solution to this problem, which is to make and crush slightly smaller ice cubes. :)
- I read all the reviews and despite the claims that the ice crusher would jam up, this works exactly like it claims. It crushes ice quickly and it doesn't crush ice like snow cone ice. It is perfect for drinks and for ice beds. I sort of wish it didn't crush as small as it does, but it is still perfect. Ice can jam up in it if you feed it too quickly. I realize that most people would like to just fill the cup and walk away... but that is generally when that jamming occurs. If you can sort of feed the ice through a hand full at a time, it doesn't jam as much. And even feeding it through that way, it is stil extremely fast. It takes only a few minutes to fill the crushed ice holder at the bottom of the machine... and that is pretty big. The only other thing I would like is if there was a cover for the top. I don't use it every single day (more like every other day) so would like to prevent anything from blowing into the top.
If you like crushed ice, don't mind hand feeling the ice through, this is a good product. I suppose there might be an occasional unit that doesn't work, but this one does. I am veyr happy with my purchase.
- This ice crusher works beautifully. It's larger than I expected it to be, but I do have room for it on my counter. The crushed ice comes out in a nice small size. I gave one to my mother, and she really likes it too.
- I looked for an ice crusher for over a month, reading reviews and doing a lot of research. I was hesitant to spend $80, but decided to trust the customer reviews on this one since most were positive. We'd been using our blender to crush ice for mixed drinks and it just wasn't getting the job done. Now we run the ice cubes thru this ice crusher, then add them to the blender with the other ingredients and the drinks are the perfect consistency. We use it for crushed ice in soft drinks too. Seems to be very sturdy and not as noisy as I'd have thought an ice crusher would be. We use it every day. Highly recommended.
- Waring IC70 Pro Professional Ice Crusher
- I ordered this because after reading other reviews and I was tired of trowing money away,on the other pieces of junk. This item was the best purchase that I've made on a ice crusher it is quite, and has no vibration like the others, thanks for a great item and price.
- does exactly what it is made to do!!!!
- When you buy something called an "ice crusher" all you should expect is that it will crush ice, right? well it certainly does that. we bought a very high end refrigerator which of course did cubes but not crushed. Saw this on Amazon and bought it. easy to use. just put cubes into the top and the crushed ice drops into a bin. whether you want a glass fulll or a bucket full, this does the job quickly.
- We had an old ice crusher but it failed. Got this and it works great. Just pour in the cubes through the funnel that come with it and out comes the crushed ice. Easy and fast.
- It's about time I found an ice crusher that really works. I have 4 other brands of small electric ice crushers. And all they do is spit/kick back, cubes all over my kitchen. And blenders, are blenders. Not ice crushers.
This machine does an exceptional job. The crushed ice, is just the right size for a perfect bed of ice, for shrimp/oyster platters & cocktails. Not to mention, the occasional ziplock bag ice pack.
For the size of the machine, I find it rather quiet. So far, no jambs. I am very pleased with this machine. And you can't beat the price.
Mine arrived in 3 days. Looks brand new, and works GREAT.
- This is an excellent product. I have been using it at least every other day for at least six weeks and I'm thrilled with it's performance. I waited until I had used it enough to give an authoritative review, because, like you, reading this right now, I read every review I could from this site (and others) before purchasing it. I needed an ice crusher and this one had, comparatively, the fewest negative reviews, and probably, the strongest reviews.
Ultimately, there is no product out there that will satisfy everyone's needs, and clearly, there are a few out there who have different expectations than me from an ice crusher. I needed something to crush ice for bar and summer drinks, and in sufficient quantities for home entertainment. If you need a snow cone ice shaver, this is not the machine for you. If you like mint juleps, it is.
I have used the refigerator ice that is produced in the half moon shapes, and commercial ice from the grocery store. As long as the pieces are not frozen together in widths larger than approximately one inch they feed fine. There have been a couple of occasions when the cubes froze together after I put them in the hopper, and it required a light tap with a spoon to free them. Personally, I think it would be unreasonable to expect a machine for home use to do more than that.
The machine produces a courseness that varies from powder to small marble sized pieces. I believe it feeds well, and it crushes ice faster than you can make drinks to use it. It appears to be solidly built, but only time will test its durability. At the rate than I use it, I would expect that if there is a defect, it will show up before the end of the warranty.
In the meantime, I think that the majority of people who want an ice crusher for the same reasons that I do will be ecstatic with this product.
- At last I have an endless supply of crushed ice for my soda and iced tea. I have pounded ice cubes in a plastic bag on the patio-at 108' in Phoenix it's a difficult trick-bought a crusher that stalled every 4 cubes and had one that gave me shaved ice. No, no, no. I'm an addicted ice cruncher and none of that would do. Finally sucked it up, paid a little more and ordered the Waring IC70 Pro. Oh, happy day...it gave me exactly what I wanted. Clean, fast, pretty quiet and dries out quickly. You can make a huge bag in about 6 minutes. So take the plunge fellow ice crunchers. You won't be sorry.

- Severe jamming problems makes it almost useless.
- I have never managed to get this crusher to go through more than a gallon or so of ice without it jamming, at which point I have to wait for the ice to melt before I can use it again. What a waste of money.
- Take Your Chances On This
- After three and a half months the product quit working. The motor still runs but it does not crush ice. This product was not designed rugged enough.
- If you want really small crushed ice...this is not the product for you...
- We are in the process of packing it up and returning it as I write. It required two runs thru to get the ice crushed to my husband's preference. Then it started making some kind of squealing/squeaking noise... It's also a big large to just have hanging around your kitchen... :-)
- The Waring Ice Crusher certainly looks like a professional machine, it is big, shiney and expensive. It is also relatively quiet and does not leak. I would have rated it, at least, four stars seven months ago. However after, eight months of light use the grinding mechanism died with a tinkle and rattle even though the motor still turned. So much for longevity and, perhaps, quality. I can only hope it is a sample defect but it appears to be more a new Conair than an old Waring product.
- Poorly designed ice crusher.
- I have owned this ice crusher for over a year. I crush ice from my ice maker which makes those half moon shapes. I do this about once a week, crushing up one of those ice maker bins full. This ice maker gets plugged up all the time. It doesn't matter how you load it, it will just stop crushing and you can hear the ice working up and down. You can poke the cubes down with a long plastic spoon and get it crushing again, but sometimes this doesn't even work and you have to pour water through it. When I bought this machine I thought I could pour in the cubes and let the machine do the work. Think again. You have to baby this poorly designed machine along constantly. It's better than putting your cubes in a towel and beating them with a hammer, but not much.
- poor job on large size ice cubes
- I purchased this machine for my crushed-ice-eating wife thinking it would solve our problems. It looks nice, runs very quietly and makes the counter top look like a professional food prep area. It doesn't work on large ice cubes at all, the blades move too slowly to effectively trap and crush the cubes. Instead they dance around the plodding blade as it slowly rotates. I find the vintage ice-o-mat, vogue model, hand crank ice crusher to be much more effective. It requires moderate strength but never fails to finely chop the ice. We purchased it at a local antique/collectible store for $15. The Waring will be in the mail on Monday!

- Waring IC70 Pro Ice Crusher
- Nice, solid, quality machine. Does a pretty good job of crushing ice cubes into smaller ice pieces. My only wish about this device is that I would have liked the ice pieces to be a little smaller. The pieces that come out are not the same uniform size that you get from a drive in or such. I've run the output through twice and that helps. But, overall it does what it advertises.
