- Hot Plate Shopper's Experience
- I would have purchased this by now but it's on back order. This review is for anyone looking for a hot plate, as I have for the last two weeks.
First off, it's hard to find a store that even sells one. I called Waring and they said this unit will boil water. At 1300 watts I sure hope it does! Going in I thought all hot plates boil water. Most don't and should be called warmers. I'm about to return a 1000 watt unit to Wally-Mart because it wasn't hot enough. I tried using my pancake pan on it but it's slightly curved and didn't make enough contact to make it work. Make sure what you put on a burner is flat enough.
- Works very well. I would recommend this product over the cheaper products on the market. It is worth the extra money.

A profesional looking and operating burner. I use it for my pressure cooker and it works great. It takes a couple of minutes to heat up and maitains proper heat setting on a costant basis. Great product.
- Why did I wait soooo long?
- This product should have been used in our motorhome a looong time ago. Countertop space is minimal so the top overlaying our stove is used as a workspace which makes using the burners almost impossible. Well, problem is solved with my Waring burner. It takes up very little counter space, element heats up quickly to the exact temperature I've set it for & distributes an even heat to the bottom of all my pans & skillets. The burner is NOT 900 watts like it is advertised BUT 1300 watts which I think contributes to the burner being more efficient. The unit takes awhile to cool down but with the built-in hand holds on each side, I just pick it up (not hot to handle at all) & set it outside to cool. If I were using it my home, I would move it to another part of the kitchen or utility rm to cool. The burner is all that it claims to be ... and more!
- Excellent Electric Burner
- This is the best electric burner I have used. It costs more than most but well worth it. It draws quite a bit of electricity but does the job of a professional burner. If a gas burner is not appropriate, this is what you want.

- In June, I moved into an apartment with a gas stove. Since it has been about 20 years since I've cooked with gas, I was lost. After researching hot plates, I settled on the Waring Pro and have been using it for weeks. I am very glad that I have this. It works beautifully. It is fast has 5 heat ranges of MIN to high and between. It has a light that tells me when it has reached my setting. And best yet, it behaves the way an electric range would with minimal cleanup. I would advise anyone who asks me to definitely buy this product.
- This appliance is perfect for my lab. I needed a unit that would heat my 24-quart pressure cooker and allow me to sterilize media and utensils. This unit does it well. It does take several minutes to heat up to ready on the highest setting, but once it gets there, it heats flawlessly.
Because I had read that it smells when it is first used, I did the first heat-up outside on the deck. Since it was heating up, I decided to make scrambled eggs and I can't remember eggs that tasted better. Maybe it was the outside cooking or the feeling of being camping, but I thoroughly enjoyed cooking and eating them.
This is a well-made hot plate and worth every cent. I researched long and hard and finally found a unit beefy enough for my application that didn't break the bank. Other items of the same caliber would have cost me 3-4 times as much. Don't look any farther. Buy this unit today.

- Another good purchase at Amazon. This product heats evenly and quickly and is the perfect size for my limited cabinet space and stores easily. It is exactly what I had hoped it would be.
- Works GREAT!!! I do cooking demos and have tried several in the past that wouldn't get hot enought to cook the food, and this one will. It takes about 5 min. to heat up before its ready to use. It is stable and not to heavy to carry around.

However; none of the reviewers mentioned that the cheap plastic side walls of the burner melted. This Pro Burner should have been all stainless steel.

- I use this Portable Single Burner when I use the bathroom for extended periods. I can even turn it on while on the toilet, just plug it in, open a can of pork & beans and heat them up. Works well with coffee, eggs, light toast and other food. One downside is that it has no handles to pick it up so if you are in the tub you can electrocute yourself if you are cooking supper while bathing.
